Navigation loses its position

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I looked for a bit and didn't find anything on this particular topic. I have a '05 TL Navi with the 5AT that I love very much. However, something strange has been happening the last few days. About a month ago, the Navi screen was showing me in a totally wrong location, driving through a neighborhood 4 or 5 blocks from where I was. I simply pulled the battery and let the car reset itself, and voila! All issues solved. Until the next day. Now, the car consistently loses track of where it actually is or which direction its really moving. Heck, sometimes the screen even freezes for a few minutes. Then all of a sudden everything is ok and the GPS is on track. Has this happened to anyone else? The car has 103k on it; and I'd like to keep it til it dies - but if I have to replace the Nav unit + timing belt; I will strongly reconsider that point. Thanks!
