Is there a navi hack for "ok" screen for the '07s 4.55 disk? I have been looking but all I found was the hack for image and trip meter.

Did you look on the forums? the very top one that has navi hack? It should tell you there, I think they said it's a different disc so if someone gives him a 07 disk he'll try to figure it out, just look on the forums and you should find it... To everyone else. I have the PM's and I sent you a PM also.

When you go to the page that asks if you want to pay for download you should see a message saying "you have requested to download(FILE NAME) plaese pay or wait for 15 minutes". just keep refreshing the page until whatever time it tells you to wait then another message should appear after the time has passed and it will give you one of those annoying scrambled passwords to type in the box to download and presto it will ask you to save or open!!!

Batch file for updating the BNHH401A.BIN file

All,
I was toying with multiple splash screens on my TL as I like different screens for different moods. I am lazy and do not like to have to go to the command prompt to update the BIN file with the Nav, Trip computer, and splash screen.

If you are lazy like me do the following:
  • Dowload and extract the fixed navi.exe, fixed HMIManager.exe, and your updated Back.bmp file into one folder. (anywhere on your computer, does not matter)
  • Put a copy of the command line Dumpnavi.exe, and a copy of your appropriate BIN from your DVD. (for mine it is BNHH401A.BIN)
  • create a new text document in that same folder
  • In the text file enter the following:
dumpnavi bnhh401a.bin update Back.bmp
dumpnavi bnhh401a.bin update navi.exe
dumpnavi bnhh401a.bin update HMIManager.exe
exit
  • save the updated text file in the folder
  • rename the text file anything you want, but change the file extension from .txt to .bat
  • run it and then you are ready to burn your CD with this updated BIN & the appropriate loader file

then your browser takes it from there as far as downloading.

save the 2 files somewhere. then, burn those to fiels to a cd-r or cd-rw.

then follow the directions for putting this on your car(taken from kennyc's guide):
>>>
How to load my custom bin back into the car?
1. Burn your custom bin (BNHH401a.BIN) and the loader (BN2HHMLD.BIN) onto a blank CD.
2. Go to your car.
3. Turn your car's ignition to ACC
4. Open the trunk and pop out the NAVI disk (if it's in there)
5. Insert your newly burned CD.
6. Go back to the driver seat, the display will show some dvd read error, now press and hold "GUIDE" "MENU" and "CANCEL" for approx 5 seconds to bring up the diagnostic menu.
7. Wait another 5 seconds to let it load up completely. Press "version" button on the screen
8. Press "LOAD DISC" to load your custom bin into the navigation.
9. Wait until it's completely done and it will then display another error message about can't read the navi dvd, now take out your bin CD and insert your Navigation disc and you are done!
>>>
and you are done.

Ok I have done this 3 or 4 times and I am really frustrated. when I put my burned disc in it doesnt say anything about loading files or disc or dvd nothing. All i get is a error msg

Problem with Hack - NAV DVD Reloads Files

You wondered about problems: I followed the instructions, and the CD shows the modiifed boot spash, and instructions seem to work OK, but when original DVD is inserted at the end of the process, it goes through the "loading file" dialog again and seem to load the original BIN and reset the modified settings back to stock.
I work in the IT business and have a pretty good idea I'm doing this right, and managed to get a USA Spec Ipod HON-2Y and DVD and rear view cam wired into my nav system using the GNET NAv interface, and I did all the work myself, so can read instructions and burn a CD, DVD, ISO image, etc. I have confirmed that the BNHH401A.BIN is what my car loads under version 3.6.

Any idea what the most common reason the DVD would reload it's original BIN on startup ? I'm thinking that at some level of the NAV OS, it "knows" a modified BIN has been loaded and reloads it's own. Maybe the CD burn is stripping some metadata from the file. I used Nero for a data CD with stock options.

Ever heard of this problem before ?

Did you guys try the battery disconnect? Someone said they couldn't get it till they disconnected the battery with the burned cd in to boot from when the power was hooked back up.

Unhappy Battery Disconnect Sequence ?

Any clue who said this, and was the battery disconnected "after" the CD was loaded, or was the idea to do the whole procedure after disconnecting and re-connecting the battery. Maybe a couple of us having this issue (I was about to give up) may get this to work.

Original DVD Reload Problem

Chase, since you are having the exact problem I'm having, we need to look for something common to the two of us. I have a 06 TL AT bought in August. Orange DVD sez 3.6. The BIN it loads is 401, and the BIN I burned has been checked and compared with the system menu.

Main problem is loading all the original stuff when I put the DVD in. The only hint of a problem was when the first CD was burned using XP CD burning, you get a message that "some information may be lost" which I ignored the first time. I assumed this was unneeded metadata, but re-burned with Nero and didn't get that message. Still had the same problem.

Did you try the battery thing, or are you confused about when to do it also... I asked for clarification, as well as emailed 'aznpersuasion1023@hotmail.com' since he had offered to answer several questions. If a few people are having this issue, maybe it should be a separate thread for visibility. I'm hoping one of the original authors that understands the Nav system operation chimes in.

I have not tried disconnecting the battery trick...

and I also have the orange 3.6 disc and it loads the 401A bin file.

I burned the cd using Roxio and didn't get any type of error message...

everything would load fine..but the last step of reloading the original dvd..it erases all the hacks.. and goes back to normal default.

I just tried burning the CD and following the directions. Exact same thing as you described; it all works, but when I put the DVD back in it reloads and boots off the old data.

how do you make it hold the new data?

Guys, I don't know exactly where that battery deal is but I read it in the original navi hack guide. Frankly I don't think it's your answer but it is an easy thing to try and he said it worked for him.

The poster said he could not get the disk to load until he disconnected the battery with the burned CD in the "drive." I guess the idea was that the created power failure automatically makes the car reload the data.

My understanding is that once the programing is loaded, weather it is ours or the original Acura, that the disc is only used for mapping info. So I don't see why your system would reload from the original disc. You aren't asking it to reload anything from the original disc after you put your burned one in are you?

You are having it load your burned disc and then just replacing it with your original when it gets to the disc error right?

I was trying to help with the programming but my version 3.6 is not using the 401 file. I'd be happy to email the file with the three hacks to you but if your system is using the 401 file, I don't think mine would work.

It seems like whatever the roadblock is, it ends up being some tiny little difference when you get it to work.

Well... looks like a few of us need to disc the battery before the CD load

Thanks for the input.. you're right.. it's not that hard. When I tor apart my car I noticed when I removed battery power, I had to put in the security code, but.... my settings were saved. The theory below is that the CD in the drive may load differently when the system has effectively been powered all the way down. Makes some sense. Maybe the model we have wants to keep the original BIN in memory so it doesn't load every time you turn the card on... who knows. I'll try that next, but won't have a chance for a few days. If this helps anyone else, ping the board. I think we probably have the CD's put together correctly, but if the battery trick doesn't work, we need to look at file sizes, etc. or anything else that people that are more familiar with the hack come up with. That's the thing with hacks... we can't assume everything hacked is the same. That s why it's a hack, and not a "factory supported solution."

are there 3.60 versions of these files?
the 3.5 versions show CRC errors.

Thanks...

I know this is an old thread but was there a solution to this? Disconnect the battery work?

I am a very computer savvy person, I build my own so I can def use computers. I tried this mod tonight on a 3.30D nav dvd. I followed the instructions to the T from this forum and when it came time to 'load' the new bin, it instantly says "check your disc" I don't see any kind of loading at all. Then I put in the dvd and it reloads the old navy settings back up. Any special way to burn the bins onto the cd or just burn them to root and thats all? HEEEEELLLLPPPPP!

I'd really like to have the "OK" Navi hack for my 07 TL-S... Has anyone found a way of having this done yet? I still have not found a reliable source!

AcuraTL44... Thanks so much for your help!!! I tried to follow the instructions in the sticky, but they seem unnecessarily involved (no need to download any programs or exe files!). I simply copied the two files you linked to onto a CD and loaded them in my 05 TL (Nav version 3.4) and it worked perfectly. Prior to finding your posts, I was beating my head against the wall!

Black DVD Version 2.50 For 2002 TL-S

I have a 2002 TL-S and was wondering if someone had a hack for version 2.50 Black DVD, and instructions on how to down load and then install into the nav system.
Thanks.

Hey there acuraTL44, I want to first off thank you for making this as easy as possible for people like myself to do this hack without blowing everything up. I had someone else create two pictures for my nav screen and was wondering if you could create two sets of bin files with the two pictures for me. I would be most appreciative. Here are the two pictures:

Can anyone do this for me? I've tried to do it myself but have been unsuccessful. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I just did the mod on my 05 tl. The first time it didnt work. I downloaded to my desktop then click and drag to a new folder to burn to cd. The second time I downloaded to desktop and send to cd-r drive, then burn to cd. I'm not very computer savvy and dont even know if thats why it worked the second time? But ther it is! Now i have the blue picture and ok button removal w/ no disclaimer but where are and how do I access these other screens you speak of? (trip comp. screen, a/c screen, and shortcut???)

Does anyone have a screen shot of the Trip and A/C screen hack?

Nevermind. I found them with a search

I just did the mod on my 05 tl. Took all of 5 minutes. Nav DVD was a 3.40A. I didnt have to disconnect the battery at all, just followed the directions. Thank you for the files and legwork, it looks great. If anyone still needs help getting to the trip computer, just hit info and it's a selectable view along with AC control.
