I've gotten different PM's from different people about how to do this hack. I am in no way an expert on how to do this. I was able to figure it out, but quite possibly by accident. haha
Anyways, the best that I might be able to do is to upload my BIN somewhere for people to download and use as they please. It has a custom image (which one would have to change, but nobody seems to have a problem doing that), it has the Angry Dad OK bypass, and the Angry Dad work-around patch. I did not do the trip computer because I didn't think that I would use it. Check my video to see what I'm talking about.

Anybody willing to host this file? What I've done in the past is to email people my navi.exe file, but this may be a better solution. PM me so we don't clog up this thread.

This is the BIN file. Burn it with that HMImanager file (forget the exact name). It's got a custom image that you will have to either use or change, the AD OK bypass, and the AD work-around for version 3.6 (orange disk). Like I said before, I didn't do the trip computer because I wasn't interested.
I am no expert with this stuff by any means so I will probably stare at most of your questions with a dumb-founded look on my face. Good luck!

i'm happy.
easiest way to do it with CEBin if you don't have 3.4 or 3.5:
put CEBin, the bin file to patch, and the three files you want replaced (back.bmp, navi.exe, hmimanager.exe).
make a text file with the following (replace BN2HH12C if needed, this is for 3.30 fversion)
image BN2HH12C.BIN
replaceFile navi.exe C:\navihack\navi.exe
replaceFile Back.bmp C:\navihack\Back.bmp
replaceFile HMIManager.exe C:\navihack\HMIManager.exe
you have to replace the filenames (C:\ whatever) with your own. Then run CEBin from the command prompt:
cebin yourfile.txt -s tempfile.bin
then rename this file to the original image name, put it with the loader on a disc, and burn away as detailed in the other posts.

I'm not much of a commandprompt pro here. A few of the DIY here seem confusing and contradictory. (maybe I wasn't following directions right) I got stumped many times trying to do this via dumpnavi. I got the splash screen working, Just couldn't get the rest to work. I wanted the TC and the AD-free OK hack. I forwent using CEBin thinking it would be more complicated. But then as a last resort I did it verbatim to zeezz instructions. It worked flawlessly!! Defintely worth it!
As a side note one tip from me: I didn't want to burn too many coasters so I thought of burning on a DVD-RW.....So if you were wondering, NO DVD-RW aren't going to read. Burn only on DVD-Rs! Also I have ver 3.50 and used instructions for 3.40 and it still worked.

I would recommend to use the new CEBin 0.5 (see details several posts above) because the old version has several bugs related to recalculating addresses after replacing files.
But the new version has not been tested enough.

I know what the trip meter is-there are 2 (A and B), but is that what you are talking about? Please explain, I'm interested. Thanks. Oh, and by dissatisfied, I'm talking about the general inability of this navi system to find anything at all, compared to my handheld Garmin V, which Alpine admits has a much bigger database. Anything that can be done in this area?
The trip computer will actually display on the navi screen. It is a full screen that can show instead of the map or audio. Kinda neat...

I understand disadvantages of this idea but I think it may be useful anyway.

Man... I really want to do some of these things to my 2007 TL, but it's a totally different disk, v4.55 White. Files aren't even the same. I have been playing around with it some, but I get errors when I try to extract the files from the BINs 07Touch.bin 07Touch2.bin . Anyone know any good programs to extract / update these? I have tried (on XP) Winimage, Alchohol, Nero, UltraISO, and even tried MAC Unarchive. No luck. Closest I have come is using the DumpNavi.exe which extracted some of the files before it errored.
I also noticed on the new DVD that all the icons and road "images" (showing like interstate exists) are all in folders on the disk and would be easily modifiable. Are those things easy accessable on the earlier disks? Anyone played around with "updating/improving" these images?

Good News 2007 TL Owners
Got info on how to hack the Startup Screen for 2007 TL's. Worked on mine w/White Disk v4.55.
It's basically the same as a hack for the 2006 Civic. Guy named Guicide has some instructions online here: http://www.guicide.com/cars/2006civic/nav/hacks/ . Instead of using his 06AVN2.bin file, you use the 07Touch2.bin file from the TL v4.55 DVD. All the other instructions are pretty much the same. (They are very detailed, so even a computer novice should be able to follow without a problem.)
Pay special attention to the file size. Has to be 480 by 234 pixels and 256 colors BMP and you need to use his 8to16 program on it. Some of the Graphics in the TL thread are a different size. (off by a few pixels). I used the Lo/Jack graphic, increased the size using Paint and saved it and used it, no problem.
You do have to use a DVD (dual layer) to burn it correctly (UDF). I used DVD-R, not sure if an RW will work (do they even make Dual Layer RW disks?). Heard reports no for the 06, but haven't tested it on the 07 yet.
The Load instructions are off by just a little. You shouldn't get the "error" screen that he got for the Civic, but the rest of the procedures are the same to bring up the diagnostics menu and download the new DVD info. Once you boot and hit ok, do the keypresses and download like he shows.
Now... Working on the OK screen text and elimination of the OK button are our next challenges.

Good luck with the nag screen hack. It is much more of a challenge. Totally different than the previous 3.x versions. Keep us updated on your progress!

Hmmm... ok... I just burned an entire copy of my DVD 8+ GB (White v4.55) and replaced the bin file on it. Didn't know you could only put a sub-set of the files on the DVD for the load. Is there a thread that talks about that somewhere?
If anyone knows which file has the Nag screen and/or the text for it for the White Label v4.x disks, please let me know.

I found the nag screen text in the HMIManager.dll file. Haven't played around with it much, but on my first and only try, I couldn't get the modified file to update in the bin.
Here's the site that lists the files...

pikegi, what AC mod are you talking about? I thought the trip computer mod also enables the AC controls.

Navi seems confused...
Today when I went to do some of the basic navi hacks (spash screen, trip comp, etc.) on my TL (early model 04 6MT, navi version 3.30H).
At some point I had to reboot with the disc's initial setup... only when the disc loaded, it loaded what I think is the Accord profile.. now I have no center or subwoofer control in the soud menu, the trip computer enabled, and the "H" splash screen.
I tried pulling the fuses and the battery--both required the codes for the nav and radio again-- but it when the disc loads, I still get the Honda defaults. I even tried to load my old bin from CD (files is BN2HH12C.BIN) and it wont load.
I have changed the splash screen before, but never had a problem like this.... anyone have any ideas???

Troubleshooting and Tips
I found the navigation system is pretty tolerant of mistakes. If you screw something up (and you probably will) All you need to do is reinsert your original navi dvd back into the drive, press and hold "GUIDE" "MENU" and "CANCEL" for 5 seconds and it will take you to the diagnostic menu EVEN if your navigation system is in a loop! Once you're in the diagnostic menu just go into "version" and press "load disc" and everything will be back to factory state.

Sadly I did try that... its what got me in trouble in the first place. I'd never had to reload the original before, is it possible I have the wrong disc? I didn't think the discs were model specific, as long as you have the right version (i.e. 3.xx).

There is a sticky at the top of the forum on different welcome screens. Sticky: Navi Hack BMP's (Images)
As for screen shots of the trip computer, you can find those easily with a search.

Thanks to all involved with the creation of these hacks. I finally had some time tonight and did the wallpaper and trip computer. Except for a mistake that I made (which ended up adding 30 minutes, but no harm done) they perform flawlessly. Thanks again.

ok guys ive got the 05 TL with the 3.40C software. ive gone through all 11 pages of this thread and tried doing the command promt thing and all ( now mind you im not too computer savvey when it comes to re-wqriting files and stuff) but my point here is this
can someone help me give a liemans terms way of doing it ( kinda like ANGELS website that was just posted a lil while ago) im interested in pretty much every hack there is - AC controls, trip computer, bypassing the OK button, and iserting my own picture at start up.
also is it worth spending the money for a newer software disc that has more info, POI's etc then doing the hacks??
PLEASE HELP this stuff is all wicked sweet but its all chinese to me!

You can still use the way I explained it on my website but use these files that are already cracked thanks to kennyc. The difference is that you can skip a few steps (step 4,5, and 6) and get to uploading the cracks to the bin files since the files are already cracked.

alllright bear with the ignorance here - when i open the command prompt the program opens up and says C:\Documents and Settings\HP_administrator>
with a curser blinking after the >
i have tried to type dumpnavi(space)BNHH401A.BIN(space)extract
then hit enter and this comes up 'dumpnavi' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file
ive tried doing underscores instead of spaces and all different combinations and it doesnt seem to work -
ALSO when im burning the 9 bin files onto a dvd will i only burn those 9 bin files and NOT the bmp image, dumpnavi.exe, and TLPatch401a.com onto the dvd
