Navi screen won't turn on

Well this morning when I got in my car my Navi screen would not turn on. It was completely black. I can also tell at some point over the evening I lost power to my car b/c my trip millage reset and the time was 1:00.

The car started right up, with no hesitation, so I do not think its the battery. I had to enter the radio code to turn the radio on but the Navi never came on. Just a black screen.

Any one have any ideas? Am I going to need to replaced the screen?

The lose of power thing has happened several times over the last few months but I cant seen to find the cause.

It's the battery and/or cables. Your symptom descriptions match those of an almost-dead battery or loose battery connection.

1) Hand check the battery clamps and negative ground for tightness-- if there is play, that's one problem. Look for corrosion on the clamps and under the sheathing along the positive cable behind the clamp. Clean/replace as appropriate.

2) Test the battery, and look for a dead cell. The battery is probably on its way out if it's more than three years old, regardless of the warranty length.

3) Assuming the battery and cables are OK, disconnect the battery for 30 minutes, then reconnect to see if the Navi drive boots and asks for a code.

G/L.

the Navi turned on when I left work to head home. When I got home I checked the battery and my negative connection was very slightly loose. I tightened it up and I'll see if the problem comes back

Bad battery can affect radio operations in Hondas. My son had a '97 Accord, battery died. After we jumped it one night, the radio wouldn't work. Fuses looked good, couldn't find any problem. Few months later, battery died again, even with a jump it would barely run, managed to get it home. Put a new battery in and the radio was working again.

Just an update, My battery connections were tight but the negative could be tightened more. I did that and have not had a problem since.
