In the past several days the screen on my navi/radio has started to freeze. The screen displays the normal radio information, but the information doesn't change as the music changes, and none of the screen controls work. None of the hard buttons worked either. The only way to fix the problem was to turn the car off and then start up again. After that, the screen seems to be okay. This has happened twice. My car is just out of warranty and Acura says they're not responsible.

I'm trying to diagnose the problem myself so I can figure out what to do. I saw a post somewhere that said a bad DVD in the navi trunk unit might be causing the problem. Does anyone know if a bad DVD could cause such an intermittent problem?

If anyone else has ideas on what the problem might be, or other tests to try to figure out what's wrong I'd appreciate hearing about it.
