hey guys i have a question. does the hfl for phone use a separate mic? so theres one for mic for the navi and one mic for the phone? if you look at your dome light fixture there are slots on it the phone mic goes there. right? and the navi mic is under the small holes, right?

can anyone confirm this? im doing a non nav to nav conversion on a 2006 and it's missing the navi mic. can you navi owners check if this is true? i have done two other conversions and they both had the two mics but they were 2004 and a 2005.

Just pulled mine out and it only has one mic. drivers side.. on mine it looks like the other side is just mocked up to look like it has a mic also... i imagine for symmetry...

The navi unit microphone connections go into the hfl unit along with the microphone itself.

I do know that if the navi connections of the mic to the hfl module are not seated correctly, the hfl can't hear you when you try and communcate with your phone.

My TL was an 06-MT non-navi.

There is only one mic and it's under the slots on the driver's side of the overhead console. I suspect the small holes you're describing are where the blue ambient LEDs shine out when the headlight are on.
