Navi Guidance Prompts

I have a quick question about my 07 TLS. When I have a destination entered into the Navi and it is giving me directions, the navi only shuts off the front speakers of the audio system, not the rears. So if I have the radio turned up, I just notice the front speakers go off, but the rears keep blasting. Therefore, I can't hear the voice prompts.

I could have sworn that, prior to today, the entire audio system was temporarily interrupted for voice prompts from the nav system.

Can anyone tell me whether the nav is supposed to interrupt all audio speakers or just the front speakers?

Thanks,

Alan

On the Accords with Navi, fronts mute completely and lady or man speaks over. Rears get volume halved (reduced by half). Hope that helps. Maybe try turning up the Navi Volume in the menu, if not go to the dealer?

With the navi it comes through the center front speaker. Sometimes I don't hear it either with my stereo turned up. The HFL however comes through the entire system.

The nav is suppose to interrupt the fronts (front sides) only. If you cannot hear the voice prompts either turn down your music or turn up the navi volume; they have independent volume controls. I believe the navi volume is located in one of the setup menus.

The HFL will mute the entire system, and that too has its own volume control (steering wheel volume or head unit volume knob while the HFL is in use).

Hey, thanks - I didn't know you could adjust the volume on the HFL. That's great!

Thanks for responses

Thanks for the responses. I checked again. My HFL is working fine. It mutes all speakers. My nav prompts mute the front and side speakers, but don't do anything to the rears. They stay at the same volume. Maybe I don't have a problem.

Can anyone else verify whether the rear speaker volume is supposed to stay the same when the nav is giving guidance prompts?
Thanks,

Alan
