Navi in Europe

Is it possible to get a European maps dvd for my 05 TL???

Europe uses PAL video formats, we use NTSC. Not sure if our system goes both ways. I hope to find out soon.

what does the dvd have to do with the signal from the navi unit to the screen?

Nothing. But the DVD functions as the database for your system. If all European maps made by Alpine are in the wrong format, they won't work in your system.

ya but doesn't the DVD hold the frimware too? so you might be ok.
