Anyone here with v3.60 of the Navi DVD know if the recent changes to the 101 in San Francisco (extension of freeway) show up?

Unfortunately they don't. I was just in the City a few weeks ago and I have the new disc. The system was clearly confused as I drove down Octavia St. towards I-80.

Any idea what the new link is to purchase the 3.60 DVD? The link I've seen floating around results in a 404 page not found...

Considering all the changes on the Bay Bridge off/on ramps, this is something they need to get in there.. It just doesn't many any sense to me that it can't "download" the updated maps through the satellite connection.. If not the sat connection, at least provide the ability to update via incrementals on a memory card or something.

This would violate their primary source of revenue... which is people continuing to buy new versions of the maps. ;-)

There's nothing technically challenging about this (except that some of the files are mighty big)...

I think eventually what you'll see is a setup where you pay an additional $10 or $20 or $30/month and the system keeps itself updated.

If you buy a new ($180) disc every year, that's $30 a month... I think every 3 years is what most people would do... that would equate to $10/month... maybe they could make the same profit if all their subscribers paid $15/month? Not sure... ask the people at Alpine/Navteq.
