Does anyone know who can put a aftermarket navigation system in the maryland, delaware area? And which is better an aftermaket unit or a carputer?

Carputer for navigation is by far better than the stock navi.
But installation is a pita because you have to relocate the current displays.
The nice thing about the navi-setup with a carputer is that the majority of the information in the lower displays on a non-navi vehicle is on the subdisplay where the clock is.
That's why I did the oem navi conversion first and then will do the carputer. It does cost more but I didn't want to relocate the existing displays.

I played around with just installing the navi display electronics along with the sub-display, which works. But you still can't see some of the functions of the HU and the clock can't be set (starts @ 1:00 when powered up)
I was about to proceed with this route but then I found a sealed re manufactured DVD unit for dirt cheap, so I went on to do the full conversion.
