Nav on a Non Nav TL question?

I would search but it's 2am and the wifie is.........u know, i was searching other stuff but I just got an offer for a TL nav screen and a software reader or dvd player whatever that is from my sister in laws BF. I got a o4 TL 6 speed if that matters, but my question is, is it worth to swap nav systen if I get it for $400? Do I need diff wiring harness? How much will it cost to swap components? Any inputs will help. Thanks.

Nav / Non Nav

I don’t know if it’s a good deal but I thought about getting one but saw that I would have to change the center pod because on the Nav cars they have the clock and a/c reading up there. Plus you need to make sure it has the antenna for the GPS also. There might be other items you need but I’m not sure. Why not just buy a standard GPS for $400. Top choices for under $400 from cnet: Garmin Nuvi 350, Magellan Maestro 4040, and Mio C520 Nav Receiver. Then you could take it to another car.

Is it just the dvd drive for the navi system? whichever it is, you could turn a big profit on ebay, brand new those units are 2K, sell it on ebay and make money, or you could do a non-navi to nav conversion. This would involved getting a new screen, clock display, DVD drive, and altering some wiring harnesses. Total cost should be around 2K if you get all the stuff from ebay, but if you do get the drive cheap, it should cost less.

Nahh. I guess too much work and not worth the $. True, I'll just get a regular GPS system. Thanks for the reply.
