Ok ok... bash the newbie but I just converted my 08 no nav to nav by a kit from ebay and have a question.

I ended up with the silver disc. How old is this disc and can I upgrade? Am I missing a lot of road info?


(by the way as I have mentioned in another thread my kit rocked... took a day to install but love my system even though it doesn't do quite everything a 08 nav should do)

Can't use the call me function from nav to locations. No biggie though... love the touchscreen!

Any help on my silver disc though would be great!

 

on the disk should be a version number written, 4.xx. 4.63 is the latest disk to my knowledge, if you want an updated one, you can purchase it from acuranavi.com for 185 dollars plus tax and shipping.

As far as the calling, you might want to check your connections to the HFL module. It can also be checked digitally by pressing MAP, MENU and CANCEL for 5 seconds, then press navi info and it should do a self diagnostic. Explore the menus, but don't change any settings in there otherwise it can mess up some stuff.

 

Yeah I looked and apparently I have the "white" disk... looks silver to me... And its version 4.55. Wonder how old that is?

That site has 4.73 for 149 bucks until 3/15. I guess thats all I have to worry about right... just the same color disk?

 

its about 1.5 years old. Is it missing your street or any local ones near you? If not, I advise you save your money for a bit and spend it towards something else, like family. If it's missing and it's been updated, spend it and be happy
