My Sirius/Aux input install (Pictures)
I've been working on this off and on for a couple weeks, but I finally got around to taking some pictures. I used a Honda Y harness behind the stereo and cut into it to add RCA jacks for the Aux input. I drilled 2 holes in the back of the top tray below the radio to feed the mini stereo plug and antenna through. 1 larger one may have been easier. I did not modify the original wiring and XM is no more. I did not take the dash apart, but it is a real pain to get the connector out of the radio and even worse to get the new harness back in. I definately had to get creative. I ran the Sirius antenna under the driver side carpet, under the driver seat and along the right side of the back seat. I'll let you know if I have a problem with reception with the antenna inside of the car. It sounds great.
Sirius XAct BXTR7UK. I gpt at Sam's Club for about $80.
This is the view from down by the gas pedal. The connector at the top of the picture is plugged into the stereo. The middle connector is the end of the Y that was modified, and the bottom white connector is not connected to anything.
It's a little blurry, but you can see the holes I drilled in the back of the tray to pull the antenna and stereo plug through.
With my mp3 player hooked up, in and out of the tray.
And finally, the antenna
I'm sure I missed some details, but please ask any questions you wish. I was just not happy with the FM modulator or tape adaptor that I bought to use my mp3 player with, and I like Sirius better than XM. Except for the baseball...
