Ok guys tell me what I’m doing wrong here. I have a 07 TL so I decided to make an MP3 cd for the car. I have about 70 songs (400 mb) used up on the cd. Certain songs on the cd will skip in the car and they skip at the same place every time. So I thought maybe I burned the songs to the cd to fast or a bad burn. So I made another copy and low and behold it's still skipping. When I play the cd in my computer everything works fine. I don’t think it the player in the car because it skips in my wife’s Volvo too. Any ideas as to what I could be doing wrong? Also I’m using Nero 6 to burn the cd.

Just re-rip the store bought CD to mp3.... You do have it, right ? :wink:

There may be errors in the mp3s that the software on your PC is more tolerant of than the players in the cars. There are error checkers/fixers out there but I can't really vouch for any.

You might try and use CDEx to convert the offending mp3s to wav and then use CDEX (or Lame) to convert back to mp3. If this fixes it then it's definitely a problem with the source mp3s. Mind you this is a test only. You would never really want to do this since with each mp3->wav->mp3 there is a loss in quality. mp3s bad enough to begin with as it is.

If you notice any clicks, pops, or other glitches in these files when played on your PC then thats a sure sign that there are problems with the files.

Thanks I do have the cd's. I spent weeks ripping them all to the hard drive so I could make a mp3 cd with all the songs I like. I will give the re-rip a try.
