For the love of god i just want DVD

I just bought Dom's pnp thingy for NAV/DVD for my '06 TL. I just know i want DVD's to play on the screen because in the 4 weeks i've had my car, i've yet to look up at the road so what's another distraction anyway. Also i've yet to decide on a dvd player and where it would be installed (funny hey, just went and bought Dom's part, so impulsive) and there's so many threads/replies and the last 4 weeks of this site have been one giant reading blur of in dash, glove compartment, center console, pull down the arm rest, fm modulate this, hardwire that, cut these, hide those and so on and so forth. War and peace would've been a shorter read. I think in the end, i've decided that a 5-6 disc dvd changer in the back would be the cleanest, easiest, functional way of doing this(for me anways, because i don't work for West Coast Customs or Martha Stewart and don't want to chop and drill and cut and paste any factory inside parts).

This DVD changer device must've been invented last week because they are hard to find here in N.America, and I'm kinda uneasy about ordering random brand version overseas on ebay. The bestbuys and electronics shops i've been to don't carry this item. Has anybody bought one on this continent, and if so where and how much? I heard Alpine makes one but it costs over $1000, too much. Any help would be great

binjon,
YOu should contact any2foru (he started the thread on 2005 TL w/ pie x3...just look at the 25 most active topics). He purchased a clarion DVD changer and just installed it in his TL. I've seen it for myself and appears to be a really nice changer...and I doubt it comes close to $1000.

oh yeah...remember that you still need to buy an audio interface if you want the dvd movie sound to play through your speakers...I personally use the PIE x3 purchased from logjamelectronics.com and couldn't be happier. Dom's box will only give you video capability, not audio...

Personally, I think the headunits are the same for US and Canada. It's just Canada doesn't get the XM, but the connector might still be there.

Try searching this audio subforum for "Canad*" which will match "Canada" and "Canadian" to see what comes up. I know a few Candadian members that have used some type of aftermarket audio interface.

zax123 is using the Blitzsafe AUX DMX.

More info on other audio interfaces here:
