Looking for 5,000K 7443 Switchback LED Bulbs

I would just like to say that I know this topic has been discussed numerous times. However, many (not all) of the original threads are almost 5-6 years old now. So, after 30 minutes of searching, I can't find the answer I'm looking for and decided I would create a new thread.

My understanding is that the V3 Triton LEDs from Vleds is about the only well-known 5,000K switchback out there. I've purchased one set of eBay bulbs,(which sucked royally by the way) and my second set from eBay have been great. However the color temperature of both sets was 6,000K and a little too blue for my liking. I'm working on modifying another set of headlights and would really like to get my hands on a quality set of 5,000K switchbacks.

Does anyone have any suggestions or product recommendations? I currently have 5,000K fogs, HIDs, and angel eyes, but no good switchbacks.

if you want the best, it's going to be the tritons. i love mine and they are going strong years later.

from what i "hear" you might be able to find a decent alternative on endlessrpm website
i can't comment on those bulbs for durability, brightness, or life but usually Bruce stocks decent stuff for the TL. but again, the gold standard is the tritons

Thanks for the input guys. I looked at Bruce's website too and debated those if no one else knows of a solid 5,000K option. He usually does go above and beyond with quality. I'll send him an email and ask about the color temperature as I don't recall seeing it listed anywhere.

sockr1, can you comment on the color temperature of your Tritions? Are they a nice pure white like 5,000K would imply? I'm trying my best to avoid the blue-ish hue.I want my switchbacks to match my new HIDS and fogs as much as possible.

they are as pure of white as you will find. i recently bought the CBI hid replacement bulbs, which are about 5500 (only option for CBI) because some people said they are about 5000k in real life, but there is a noticeable difference between them and you can really see how the tritons are truly a 5000k color. i'm hoping my CBI become a closer match but either way i'm very happy with my setup.

if you're going to keep your car a while longer, i would go for the tritons without a doubt

I just received a reply from Bruce:

"Hey. They are amber off. So they only blink amber.
The color is a 5500k. Please be aware some companies claim different colors. These match most 6k headlight bulbs."

With that additional bit of information, it appears that I may have to just purchase some Tritons.

if mine weren't such a pain to uninstall, i'd consider selling mine to you and i'd switch to the 5500k ones by bruce so they match my new CBI bulbs but i don't have much free time lately with a new baby haha.

Haha, I appreciate the offer. I know the feeling. I just got married last month and life has been a tad crazy lately.

I purchased the VLED Platinum series 5000k switchbacks about a year ago. I used them for my front signals (7443 bulb type). They were pure white and looked great. They are def. whiter than the stock 4300k HIDs. Brighter than the stock bulb too. VLED has them on clearance for about $30 for the pair. They are not as bright as the Tritons, but also not nearly as pricey. I would recommend them. I had them installed with resistors for about 8 months with no problems.

That sounds like the perfect alternative. Can you provide a link to the bulbs? I tried filtering on VLEDs website and do not a switchback option listed (as described above):

Here are the bulbs i was talking about. They are $30 each, but there is a July 4th 50% off sale. The white running light is bright, much brighter than oem. The amber blinker is equal brightness to oem, maybe slightly brighter.

Thanks so much for providing the link. It's odd that these didn't show up using the site's filters. I just placed my order. $30.00 total for these looks to be a great deal. That's about how much I paid in the past for crappy eBay ones.

It's about time I get some 5,000K switchbacks!

VLEDs probably wants customers to purchase the Tritons or their new bulb design being released soon. So the ones on sale probably didn't show up.
Post up your thoughts after the install. I was pleased with those VLED switchbacks.

the 5000k switchbacks vs the 5500-6000K CBI lights i have is starting to drive me crazy. i'm going to spring for their new ones that are being released later this year in 6000K

2. Anybody knows how v3s look behind stock orange diffusers?

I got myself pair of cheap switchbacks for test, and white (more like bluish white) behind stock diffuser makes it ugly yellow.
I opened up old broken headlight lying around, and I don't like how it looks without diffuser, and I'm not sure if I want to pay ~$110 for clear ones.

I understand you said that you din't like the look without the diffuser However, I recommend removing the yellow diffuser altogether. Otherwise, why would you invest time/money looking switchbacks? I just don't see the point.

It looks much nicer when turn signal cycles on-off-on, not on-half on - on. I also like how LEDs are completely bright or off, no dimming like standards.

I just don't feel like paying 100 for two pieces of plastic.

Yup, I hear you on that... You could always put a listing in the Black Market to see if anyone has spare clear diffusers they're willing to part with.
