LOC aftermarket amp + sub install

Anyone got pictures of how to hook up a loc to stock sub wires?

Tried searching but all the pictures posted no longer works.

Also do I have to remove my back seat to run the amp power/remote cable to the trunk?

if you don't want to cut the wires get a Metra speaker harness, it'll plug right into the stock plug like any other speaker, from there you connect your LOC

power and remote are goint to be hard or even impossible without removing the seats and panels

if you want to do minimal work remove the bottom and just loosen up the top skrews for the back, you'll be able to fish the cables through

the harder part will actually be getting any large gauge power wire to that area from the front, that's where you'll have to open up a bunch of panels
they are all clips and skrews , but some clips like to spring into oblivion and others break, you'll need some spares

you'll need to do some searching and buy a copy of the service manual if you want to be able to disassemble the interior without searching for individual pages

adding 1 amp and a sub is too basic for someone to bother putting a detailed DIY

you will find bits and pieces of useful information in individual build threads

break it down into: 1) run the power to the amp's mounting location, 2) decide on the remote (wired or auto), 3) install LOC, 4) run the signal to the amp, 5) run the amped signal to the sub

if still in doubt have a shop do it

Yellow: 12v
Black: ground
Blue:remote

It doesn't matter which channel you connect it to, just make sure you're taking the correct output of the LOC to the amp. BTW, if you know the wire color codes, you can also splice into the speaker line just after the factory amp under the passenger side front kick panel.

I don't think there's anything special about the stock subwoofer channel...if you're just replacing the factory sub, then fine, but if you're running LOC's off the front right and left as well, you can take the sub input off of those channels. The sub channel should be just a summed (in the stereo) and band limited (passive crossovers at the speaker) version of the front left and right channels, unless you're listening to DVD audio, but even then I think the "discrete" sub channel itself is just summed from the other 5 channels on the disc.

I would assume he would like to maintain sub control from the HU
