Lights around Navi

I have '06 TL w/ navi. A couple of days ago, the zoom button light won't come on so I took the center console apart. I took the bulb out and went to the dealership to order the bulb. Then I put the navi and the radio back in place without the bulb in it because the dealer told me it'd be sometime next week before they'll have the bulb in. That night, when I turned on my headlights as I'm driving, I noticed all of the light around the navi were out. Temp, menu, A/C, Info, etc. I mean all of them! Yet the navi and climate control seem to be working fine and the lights for the radio come on too. Has anyone had this problem before? I wonder if there's a fuse for the lights somewhere inside the navi unit that might have blown. My warranty just ran out so I'm looking for a way to do it myself.
Any help would be appreciated.

maybe you forget to plug something back in, because my boi has a 2004 TL he had the same problem, and realized that he just forgot to plug something back in

Something similar to what you described happened with my former car. I took out the BOSE HU out of my 96 Maxima and in the process disconnected the climate control unit. When I put everything back together, all the illumination bulbs for the climate control unit were not working. After further inspection, I found out that all blew out at the same time.

I disconnected the battery prior to doing all the work, so I still do not know why this happened. But all I had to do was go down to my local Radio Shack and buy 4 bulbs.

Possibly all you need are new bulbs???

The bulbs are tested to be fine. I actaully suspect that I might have shorted out something like MOB pointed out. Assuming that it the case, would there be a fuse inside the navi?

put the new bulb in. it should work then if not there a fuse uinder the hood. it's for the + side of the illumination. fuse no.4 (10 A ). on the back of the display, theres a 14 pin green connector.
red/blk wire= + illumination to under hood fuse
red wire= - illumination for bulbs
red/blu wire= - illumination for LED

^Right, it should work just fine when you install the bulb.
It's like Christmas tree lights, when you take a one bulb the whole strand goes out....

I just checked the fuse and it's fine. I even replaced with a new one while at it and still no lights. I don't think it's like Christmas lights because I did drive around with the one light out and the others were on.
Now, you mentioned the 14 pin green connector and I know what you're talking about. What should I do with it? is there no fuse in the unit itself?
Thank you,

why didn't u just take it in and have it replaced under warranty. now that you have taken it apart and messed it up they might not cover it.

Well, if you read my original post you'll see why I took it apart instead of taking it to dealership. Thanks for nothing!

A week? WTF r u talking about? Like you'll have a solution in a week? After dogging on me for not taking it to the dealership as it should be covered under warranty, when I specifically said "I just ran out of warranty"? One thing you shouldn't do is criticizing and picking on a guy who's already got a problem. Stop wasting other ppl's valuable by making stupid remarks about why they created a problem when they're hoping to find help fixing the problem.
And yeah, I also hope my car blows up, but only with you in it, asshole!

This is too wierd. I had individual leds go out b4 on my head unit, but just tonight, all of my head unit lights went out, but the buttons still work. Side marker lights don't come on with the headlights, but they do when I lock and unlock the car. I recently did the side marker led mod, and I'm thinking I shorted something out or blew a fuse. I guess I'll check this out tomorrow.

Mine too!

I just brought my 05 TL with 63,xxx miles on it in for the Nav Recall and now All of the lights around my Nav screen are out except the Temp Up Auto and Down. ANd on the lower part all are ON except the Set up and Info, the Passenger Seat Heater and my Mode button on the steering wheel went out too. WTF? How do i get those changed on my own. The dealership said that they didnt do anything to it but all these lights were ON before I brought it in for the recall? My 00 Xterra has all the factory lights still working bright at 137,0000 miles on it so WTF? ANyone have the Light #'s or any tips? I have the extended warrenty but was told this is NOT a covered service since its *normal wear a tear*

My lights are back on!!! I finally took the it to the dealership.
It turned out the micro-processor(that controls lighting) inside the navi was bad. Initially, the dealer said $1600 to replace the navi, then the manager came to me and said that since I only have 2k miles over the warranty and that they feel bad about it so they'll do it for FREE!
Well, at first I thought they were just trying to make a big deal about it then turn around and fix a wire or something. But when I got the car back I could tell they indeed replaced the whole unit. Most importantly, all of the lights work now.
Thank you all, who tried to help.

You can go to Radio Shack and buy them for cheaper. Just make sure you get micro lamp #7219. I bought a 2-pack for like $2. They will replace every lights except for Setup/Info and Zoom as they have brighter lights there. I recommend buying them from dealer. Good Luck!
