Does it matter? He's using an iPod, and I have an iPod cord from my DICE kit coming out from there also with no problems.

how is an aux cable supposed to charge anything? it's not in any way a form of power supply

that's like plugging in headphones to your ipod and thinking it'll charge it.

Ha yeah...no aux cable will charge your ipod. Also, I looked in my '04 and it doesn't have that slot...I swear I didn't see it. I looked today on my way to work.

OP is confusing the aux cable with a USB cable.

The '04 and '05 TLs don't have that groove; they did not have the miniplug AUX inlet either.
IIRC, some '06 models had the groove and others did not-- there was a thread within the past 6 months where one of the members just cut a notch into the front of the armrest tray to get a wire to a device on top of the cupholders.

Outstanding. I never noticed the hole between the upper and lower armrest compartments. Thanks.

I've been jamming a cable through all this time with the armrest putting pressure on it. I wonder if my '08 has it. If it does, it'll be like a new feature.
