John Coltrane Blue Train DVD-A

Anyone here have this disc? It says it's DVD-Audio, but spits it out, saying "Disc Format."

Well, for anyone interested in purchasing this disc, make sure you get the 24/192 version and not the 24/96.

I take it that you bought the 24/192 version. I recently had the same problem with a Doobie brothers (The Captain And Me) DVD-Audio and "Manheim Steamrooler meets the mouse" when I put the stereo side in the player (24/192) I get a format error as well. I am curious what the problem might be.
My top theories:
1. TL won't play 24/192 (anyone have another 24/192 disc that they can get to play?)
2. TL doesn't like 2 sided discs (anyone have success?)
3. This problem is disc specific (anyone have these discs working in the TL?)

If #1 or #2 are correct then Acura will get a big complaint from me.

I initially purchased the 24/96 version, which is the DVD Video version. I'll let you know if I have problems with the Dual Disc version. I know people have played dual-sided discs, such as the Rob Thomas Dual Disc, without a problem. I have heard of some problems with Dual Disc because they're slightly thicker than normal discs, causing problems with loading and ejecting.

I have the DVD-Audio 24/192 John Coltrane-Blue Train Audiophile - it works fine in my 05 TL.

I also have DVD-A HDAD 24/192 Canonball Adderly Something Else and it too works fine.

That said, I've listened to the regular CDs of these albums probably 2-300+ times (in car and on home system) and the DVD-A (in car) doesn't sound any better to me FWIW. Probably an apples to oranges comparison but I don't have a DVD-A capable player in the house...
