Newbie here. Did some searching already and getting mixed reviews on this.

Plan on upgrading factory speakers. Im no audiophile but i do like clean sounding music. As most of us know the TL lacks some serious midbass. Want to upgrade front stage with component set(prob focal) and plan on adding a jlw0-10". nothing fancy. rear deck speakers will be left. As far as the amp planning on running the xd 600/6 i like having the out for the sub in the future.

My question to you all is..can i use the the USA SPEC interface as a LOC preamp to run this amp?. i already have one installed in the car by previous owner TTRIBE. I was told earlier today by a very reputable audio shop that a cleansweep was a "must" in our cars, yet after searching these forums im getting mixed reviews and i thought i read a post somewhere along that i could use a LOC i.e USA SPEC preamp to achieve this. 3 hours later, i cant find the thread anymore.lol!!

Cleansweep is not needed for our cars. The pre-amp front signal is full-range and very flat.

The 3G TL head unit puts out a balanced differential signal. The XD line appears to be able to accept a balanced input, so you should be good to go there. The XD line also accepts a signal from 100mv to 4v and our signal is 900mv. Just wire the pre-amp signal into some RCAs and hook them up.

I just realized that going thru the USA spec module still doesn't bypass the amp.lol
Long night of searching confused my brain.

Just wished there was more power going to the door speakers from the stock amp.my understanding is only 20w rms.
