JL 8w3 drop in sub or Basslink?

I have been reading a bunch of posts on this subject but I am still not sure which one I want to do. I like the fact of having the JL 8w3 so it will not take up trunk space and look like a stock system but the basslink would be a cheaper way to go and an easier install. I know the 8w3v2 is a perfect drop in, but has anyone tried the 8w3v3? Also, has anyone heard both the 8w3 and the basslink and how do they compare? If I go with the JL 8w3 is it also completely necessary to seal the rear deck and dynamat it? Any and all suggestions/recommendations are welcome.

Thanks
