Which iSimple Product for Iphone 3GS and TL-S

Hello all,

I am looking to integrate my iphone into my 07 TL-S with Nav XM. Right now the xm is not activated. I have read many posts and am confused on what kit to buy. There seems to be 2. I contacted www.gigharborautoworks.com and they said I needed the kit that comes with the PGHHD2 cable. From my understanding this is needed if you have nav traffic. I don't think I have this. How do I find out? If I go ahead and buy the PGHHD2 are there any drawbacks? Thanks....

I'd like to know this as well. My Dice R4 does not charge my 3GS.

What about this?

The PGHHD2 vs PGHHD1 refers to the wiring harness.
The HD1 is for the '04-'06 without XM Traffic. With this harness the PXAMG unit mounts in the dash (I strapped mine down to the drivers side flashing under the steering wheel.)
The HD2 is the '07-08 with XM Traffic and the PXAMG will be mounted in the trunk by the Nav DVD unit.
I don't know if you can use the HD1 harness with the '07, but if you can, I think you will loose the Traffic option.

The PGHHD1 is for all Honda/Acura vehicles that have the satellite option. The PGHHD2 harness is for those that have the XM NAV Traffic. Also you can not use the PGHHD1 harness in a vehicle with NAV Traffic as it will not work. The newest modules that are shipping shipping come with the cable to charge the iPhone 3G-S.

similar situation here-

While the 07 TL-S has the AUX input already, I want to see the artist/song information on the screen and be able to control the ipod using car buttons. I am assuming the audio FAQ is up-to-date so I cannot control the ipod via the touchscreen (please let me know if this is wrong), but can we control it using the buttons on the stereo or the steering wheel?

I was watching that isimple vid for the honda/acura setup but it cut out midway. I will look into it more tonight, but thanks in advance for any info.

Was just looking around some more-

I saw this wasn't mentioned on the audio FAQ, but is that because it is a newer one?

USA-SPEC PA15 ACU XL (Acura TL / 2007, Either)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f8SC9HCwYc
It seems it has touchscreen support which looks great. Are there others similar or is this one the newest/best?

Looked some more and it is mentioned here: https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-navigation-22/psa-new-usaspec-ipod-adapter-acura-w-navi-736438/

Does anyone have experience with this product? Should it be included in the FAQ above?

Just wanted to give props to Uncald4 (Travis). I ordered the isimple iphone adapter from him but the usps screwed up the shipping address. Travis promptly rectified the situation. I will be installing it in my 07 TL-S this thanksgiving and give you an update later.

I think you will be happy with the isimple. I have one in my type-s and hooked up my friends iphone 3gs to it. It seemed to work well. The install is fairly straight forward too.

Well I am having a problem with the install. I followed the directions but there is an update for the 08 TL-S. It says to turn dip switch #2 on. This should apply to the 07 TL-S too right? I tried it in the on position and I do not get the XM1 or XM2 buttons on the touch screed display.

is that the only problem you are having? did you install the unit behind the radio or in the trunk. i believe if you have a TL with XM nav traffic which i believe the type s does, maybe someone can confirm this, then the location for mounting is in the trunk, not behind the radio.

When i first did my install i tried it in the trunk first because i didnt feel like ripping apart my dash and i couldnt get XM1 or 2 to display, then i read that it has to be installed behind the radio, only TLs with nav traffic capabilities should install in the trunk.

I installed it in the trunk based on all the threads I read. I am not sure if I have nav traffic. I do not subscribe to xm. Is there a way to tell. The place I ordered from said I needed the PGHHD2 harness for my car. Should I try to install it in front behind the radio? Could I have gotten a bad harness? I have connected/unconnected it several times trying to get it to work but no joy.

When you press XM on your radio, do you turn your TUNE nob so that the input changes from SAT to IPOD, AUX1 and AUX2? I know on my 05 TL when i press XM its labeled SAT instead of XM like it was before.

I don't have to push a button the radio for XM. It is on the touch screen of the nav. When I installed the isimple adapter the xm buttons went away. Here are pics to show what I am talking about. First is before install (stock) second is after install.

maybe the harness is bad then, i would try hooking it up behind the radio if you have the time to try it just to see if it works. If its does not work then it might be a defective unit or cable. i would try to get another unit or cable and try the process again if behind the radio does not work.
