iSimple issues.

Well my Isimple is acting up right now and I do not know enough about the system itself to go diagnose it. To give you a background of my car it is a non navi base.

These past few months I have ran it just fine but today it was wierd. My isimple worked going to my lunch break (subway) then as I was leaving to go back to work to eat my head unit would not pick up the ipod signal. I havent reset the box since it is tucked behind my center console but that is what it looks like will happen.

This is my own diagnosis just sittting in my car and trying to figure it out pressing buttons...

1. My ipod IS charging so the cable might not be damaged but I am not ruling that out. It also DID play the audio when I was on my way to my lunch break until I turned the vehicle off

2. Since it is charging I am going to assume the Isimple module is somewhat working properly.

3. The Isimple module is tucked away in an area with not a lot of ventilation (plan to change that soon) and today was the first hot day we had in texas so the module might have overheated maybe but if that was the case I think I would be in more trouble. Still not ruling that out.

4. XM button does not swap over to ipod only XM channels.

I am just asking some of the audio gurus on here what could be the issue. If all else fails I might just pull the module out and see if there is a reset on there anywhere and hope that helps. If you guys have had this issue or maybe have a fix it would help me out a lot!

Thanks in Advance.

Can you turn the tune dial after you press XM to get into iPod or Aux? ...or does it just stay on XM?

It just stays on Xm. Talked to one of my audio buddies yesterday and he told me to just unplug and replug and it should work. Probably gonna try that tomorrow and see what happens.

Well attempted a reset and no dice. How are some of the people resetting on this board? I discojnected the unit and nothing happened. Then i disconnected the battery and it is still doing the same thing. So i am temporarily stumped.

Try going on fm. Then go on xm and hold it. Same thing happened to me and that seemed to work. Good luck

Tried that also before I think my cable might be fucked. Gonna try to find a similar one laying around and test it.
