iSimple 571/BT21 with iPhone 6 and bluetooth streaming

Hi All,
I have a compatibility question for you guys with this setup. I have an '06 TL w/o navi and was thinking of adding the ishd571 unit with isbt21 for bluetooth streaming and HDRT for HD-radio. I want to keep my satellite radio working which is why I’m going with the 571 unit over the 651.

My main concern is bluetooth streaming audio working with the new iphone 6. PAC's website only lists compatibility with up to the iphone 4. Also, if you don’t think the combination of bluetooth and HD radio will work let me know, I’m guessing it should though. I'm not planning on taking calls thru the bluetooth unit so I wasn't going to connect and run the microphone. I'll still use the factory hands free for calls.

Thanks for the help.

I'd like to know about this as well. I currently have an Android phone, but the wife just got the iPhone 6 and I probably will soon as well. I've pretty much left my car stock for the last 8 years so I really don't want to take the dash apart more than once if I can help it.

I have an iPhone 6 and just ordered ISBT21. I'll post my findings here when I receive it.

I's use the 651 + HDRT + ISSR12 + SXV200.

Also, I'm kind of curious what content you listen to that is mutually exclusive between sat radio, HD radio, and what you can just stream?

I'm not sure if I'll be keeping my satellite subscription active but want to have the option to which is why I'm looking at using the 571 instead of 651. Main goal here is to stream with bluetooth. Figured I'd install HD radio too while I had everything apart. If the 571 & isbt21 configuration doesn't work with the iphone 6 though and I need to upgrade to the 651 I'll just go ahead and do that. Was hoping members on here have used the iphone 6 with the 571/bt21 setup.

I didn't think so. That's the one that their service reps pointed me to. Saw your other post about steering wheel controls. That would be a big negative for me. Let us know if you can get it to work after you reset the box.

No luck after switching ports and resetting. I removed it all and ordered the USA SPEC module. There is no Bluetooth option whatsoever but as long as the steering wheel controls work I'll be happy. Should be installed Christmas eve. Stay tuned

Staying tuned. Im currently in the market for either USA SPEC or ISIMPLE. Im an android S5 user now, but may switch to the iphone 6 in the near future. So i want something compatable with both. I dont care too much for the BT function. But i certainly want to retain steering wheel controls.

Anyone have any updates?

I spoke to the guys at PAC Audio and they said they weren't aware of any problems losing steering wheel control with the iPhone 6 using this setup. He suggested making sure the isimple was updated with the most recent firmware before installing. I'm waiting on my 571 to get here in the mail and will be installing it with the bt21 and hdrt. I'll keep you guys posted as to how I make out.

I finally got around to installing the 571, Bluetooth and hd radio tonight. So far everything works great. Installed in an 06 non-navi TL. I was able to keep my satellite radio and the Bluetooth streaming and hd radio sounds great. I'm not a huge fan of the hd radio interface on the TL as there's a slight delay and when tuning the station number doesn't always stay on the screen but maybe I just need to get used to it. Steering wheel controls work too.

Hi everyone,

This is is my first post. I've searched this forum and google quite a bit and can't seem to find the answer to a very simple question. I just bought an 05 Acura TL w/o navigation and installed the isimple 651. The Aux mode works fine but I can't seem to figure out how to change modes to USBPOD. Would really appreciate some help on this issue.

Also, in case anyone out there would like to know how to take out the radio and do a professional install, here's the video I followed:

Turning the tuner knob changes the mode. Can't believe I couldn't have tried that already. Anyways the 651 is awesome for this car. Minus the INCREDIBLY slow USB charging.

I installed the ISIM7518 yesterday. So far it's working great but even in Sat mode it's not displaying text.when I go to XM2 the ISimple comes on and does its thing but the text is still displaying what's playing on XM1. iPhone 6+ could be the issue - not sure.
