Ok, ladies and gents. I am looking to convert Non to Navi on my 06 TL and I want to get my iphone 3G also with the pertaining hardware that allows to charge it as well and the goodies that come with it. Any suggestions about it.

Any input will be appreciated.

If you just want sound then:
- iSimple

If you want to be able to watch videos from your iPhone, charge it, and have sound this is my setup:
- iSimple for Audio (Aux 2 from RCA)
- Doms Unit for Video
- Apple Composite cord
- cig->usb adapter

 

And how much will it cost me to have all this? Parts only. The install I'll probably do it myself.

I am in the middle of doing this exact same thing to my 06 TL.

I am using the DOMS unit and got that directly from them for $215 shipped. It's actually a pretty well built unit.

I got that original Apple cable from Amazon.com for $26 shipped which is the way to go otherwise you will need to jailbreak your Iphone and purchase an application called resupported for $2.00 and then you can use an aftermarket cable.

For the audio portion I will be using the PIE X3 interface. I went this route so later on I can adapt a DVD player and will not need to disconnect my Iphone connections. This way I'll have an audio input for the Iphone, DVD player and then an extra for either an auxilary that will be mounted ion the center console or I'll just hook it up to the reverse camera's mic so I can hear my exhaust from outside. HAHA! J/K

So anywhere from 330 - 420.00 + all the random wiring and switches you want.. so, I would say close to 500.00 on the high end..
