OP: congrats on the install - looks great! Any reason you chose the iPad mini vs. the Google Nexus 7? I'm planning on replacing my navigation system with a tablet this spring, and am leaning towards the Google because other USB items can be added (additional storage, backup camera, etc.). Would appreciate hearing your thoughts. Thanks!

You can use nexus 7" but for the backup camera they connect to navigation it will be different with your nexus 7" the way u can do can use is move the navigation sreen down where is my HAVC place and put nexus 7" place of navigation
Just let you know if u put ipad will be pain in the ass for bezel navigation
You should use the base bezel TL better easy custome and make it nicer
Plus nexus 7" in navigation bezel u can use button below of sreen for power and volume control for nexus 7" too, if u need any question let me know

Ipad mini always better than nexus 7" a lot better smoother and sound of quality much better and i'm the fan of apple product too you know, a lot people worry about the home button and power button but dont worry i have some trick you always can use both button if u need it and funtion in ipad u still can use it not limit to put ipad in when someone scare cant use home and power button

It is impossible ipad use different mother board to display IOS system
Climate control have different board to display on screen too

I think the before pic is a Canadian or Chinese model. Note the Celcius temp readings and lack of XM buttons.
