Intermittent HID's

Intermittent HID's
So lately my HID sometimes don't turn on. I have to turn the on/off a couple times for them to light. Once one they stay on but getting them to light is a hassle about 50% of the time.
MY guess is the ballast is busted......what do you guys think?
COuld it be the actual HID's?
If it is the ballast factory ballasts are very expensive right??...probably better to put some aftermarket one's on. Might be the right time to get some real badass , superbright HID's. Any suggestions on HID's??......i usually prefer pure white with only a slight blue.
As always the help is greatly appreciated.

Are both HIDs doing this? The bulbs are not going bad, if they were it would first turn to a pink hue, giving you a warning.
I had a similar thing happen few years back, where my right bulb was giving me issues to where it wouldn't turn on, I thought it was the ballast acting up; bought a ballast and replaced it, however I still had same problems. Then I started troubleshooting and turned out that the wire that connects to the bulb had corrosion on it, causing the bulb to not get the full power it needed.
I would check the connector between the bulb and wire. Reason this happened to mine was because the rubber cover was not installed correctly.
Hope this helps!
