Doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
As the owner of a Timeport 270C, I was disappointed to learn that not only would my phone not work with the HFL, but that Verizon had deliberately crippled the bluetooth module with brain-dead firmware. Even if you send a 270C to Motorola and ask for it to be flashed with the latest firmware, if it has the Verizon brand on it Motorola will refuse to update it beyond the "Verizon-approved" firmware version (i.e. the version with broken Bluetooth support).
This is why I dumped Verizon and went to Cingular - not only do they offer Bluetooth phones that work perfetly with the HFL, but their Internet access plan is cheaper. Plus, while Verizon may have better overall network coverage, my Cingular phones work in places where my Verizon phones did not - important places like my house.
I've been with Cingular for almost a year and have never looked back. Verizon can take their brain-dead Bluetooth support and shove it.
