^^OSX Leopard all the way bro it's PLUG AND PLAY! not plug and pray like Microsoft !

Took me more then a year to put the Windows in the car versus 3 weeks for my Mini. It is now installed for testing and didnt have trouble ever since.

I'm using ICE3 2.1.2 with iGuidance running on a VMFusion(WinXP) and switching with spaces to get the desire apps (ICE3 or Navi). Works perfectly!!

I'm now figuring how to route the navi buttons to my macs; this will be nice to achieve

I switched to Mac's last year and also use VMware Fusion. It's great.

Bought a Mini for my wife, immediately took the leftover memory from upgrading an IMac memory and put it in along with replacing the 5400rpm drive with a larger 7400rpm drive. It's not a 8 core mac pro like mine, but it's still good.

^^How much capacity your new hard drive have? Did you choose the Samsung 500G 7400rpm ?

Thats the one I put in my MacBookPro and it makes a big difference and also 500G is more then enough to store all my stuff....I may go the same route for my mini

I don't remember but at the time, 500G was considered very new. I think it was in the 200G range. Going from laptop to desktop rotational speeds made a big difference, along with doubling the memory.

Question....I'm doing the Non Navi to Navi Conversion with NAVTool video converter for backup camera and ipod video, however I was wondering where can I tap into a 12V power source for the NAVTool from the Trunk? Its a pain to run the power wire all the way to the fuse box.

Well, since you are doing the navi conversion you will have the car apart anyways.. I dont think there are any good 12V sources in the trunk.. while you are doing the navi conversion tap into the cig lighter and run that wire with all your new nav wires.. so once you get your nav tool the wire will be there waiting for you.

You will still need ALL those parts, but because you have an 08 some parts may change. Are you planning on getting an 07-08 dvd rom? If so you will need a different disc. The 07-08 use White discs instead of orange discs.

If you decide to go with an 04-06 DVD rom you will need to also get an 04-06 HFL.
I would stick with getting an 07-08 navi drive since that is the year of your car.

Nope actually I fixed some rattles since I had everything off.. The work needed to do this is less work then running a new sound system in your car..

i got everything working! only problem i had was for those stupid ass clips. damn it those things suckeed.

tip #1 - push down on the cushion and then pull the knob out. it'll give you trouble if you try to lift and pull the knob

#2 the C pillars the SRS logo is the C pillar clip, all you have to do is pry one side open until it stops. DO NOT BREAK THE CLIP it does not come out. once you've pulled it out all the way out, you'll need to pull the trim out, there's no screwes just clips.

#3 easier to take out the rubber trim and put it back then it is to tuck the trim or re position the rubber trim

#4 you don't have to take out the headliner all the way, just the A pillar, sunvisor and over head console

#5 those airbag bolts are locktite. you will need to use an electric drill with a T30 bit and push down to get it loose. didn't strip any of the 2. buy the bolts just in case.

#6 buy the right side trunk trim with navi. the one in this guide says the left one.

#7 resolder the pins for the connections from ebay harness, a few came loose.

I can't think of any right now.

I would stick with getting an 07-08 navi drive since that is the year of your car.

Quick question about this. I have an 05 and I'm trying to swap in an 04-06 Nav system. Why would i need to get an 04-06 HFL unit? Any idea on where I can get that? I noticed on your parts list that wasn't on the list.

if you have an 05, you don't need to get HFL.

04-06 conversion requires the following
04-06 navi drive
04-06 screen
04-06 HFL if going from 2007-2008 non-navi TL to 04-06 navi conversion
any year sub display.

07-08 conversion requires the following
07-08 navi drive (updated drive with higher resolution)
07-08 screen (screen is higher resolution)
07-08 HFL (phonebook option)
any year sub display

now, from what i've learned you can go with the following setups

07-08 drive with 04-06 screen which will give you a slight alignment problem on the bottom but you can use the joystick. 07-08 drives are faster than the 04-06 and other featuers.

you can also use an 06 accord drive which is similar to the 07-08 drive as well too but you wont be able to change the clock and you'll have the alignment problem as well. but the accord drive is faster and has zagat restaurants.

^^^^^ Why not just do the correct setup and get everthing 07/08 or 04/06. If you're gonna have navigation in your car, do it the right way the first time.

it's hard to find parts and you can piece them together... using 07-08 and 06 accord drives are better because they are faster and use white discs.

they also load faster and have nicer guis then the 06

i was going to go with the 07 drive with my 06 screen but decided to go all 06 parts.

The car is surprisingly easy to dismantle. but the trunk lining in your list is the left one and the one we want is on the right. curryacura is sending me the correct one. might want to change that.

i jammed both my thumbs so im gripping stuff like a cat with 2 hands. and there's interior rattles

navi is soooooooooo cool
