I'm just using an 1/8 male to male cord going out of the ipod headphone jack into the AUX input in the console. You don't get to control the ipod from the car, but it works.

That would be your easiest route.
For more integrated features, look at the USA Spec PA11-HON2y. More details about iPod integration can be found here: 3G TL Audio & Electronics FAQ

Controlling the iPod from the car is completely over rated ! There is nothing that comes near the thumb wheel and iPod display for ease of use and price.
You will be able to charge the ipod and use the audio-out from the dock connector. This way you won't accidentally "blast" yourself since the volume from the dock connector is "fixed". Everything else about the thumb wheel will be the same, you just can't adjust the volume via the iPod when the dock connector's audio is used. The dock connector's audio out is also more appropriate for use with line-in or aux-in jacks anyway. You can use the amplifier adjustment in the Belkin thing to match your iPod's volume to everything else (FM, CDs, etc).
If I had this option with my 05 I never would have had to resort to a BlitzSafe (and all its lovable quirks).

The cheapest and easiest way. I love it.
