i have a mystery phone line comming out of my dash??
i have a home type phone line comming out if my dash. i have no idea what it does or how i can find out. i took some panels off and found that it is connected to a small black cylinder type of module that is mounted near the side mirror controls. i have some pictures but i have no idea how to put them up, shoot i dont even know how to put an avatar picture up lol! does any1 have any idea what the heck this thing does???

did u get your car used? if so the previous owner might have had a valentine v1 radar hooked up and he just took out the radar detector and left the wire and the small circle module in the car. look at the module and see if the wire comming out of it is a red and black. if so im pretty sure thats for the v1. a expensive radar but good if you want to get it. if the wire is annoying you tuck it aside and hide it till you do decide to get it done =]

yeah i know huh?!?! freakin CIA, patriot act, illuminati shit! but yeah i was thinking V1. it probably is becasue like he said there is black and red wiring coming out of the bottom. and yes the car is used i picked it up 3 weeks ago. its a anthracite 2004 TL a-spec with navi, 93K miles price was $11.5K. good deal or what? but if it was for radar why the hell would u make it come out the dash i would have made it come out of the ceiling near the rear view

ok it swiped my friends V1 out of his car with out him knowing and tried it out in mine. it is indeed for a radar detector. thanx for help guys. yo Mr. admin you can waste this thread

FYI the power for radar detectors should work on just about anything (not just a V1). Some people prefer mounting their detector lower on the dash so that it's easier to reach.
