Has anyone tried/know how to obtain an updated DVD-A demo disc? I have the 05 version, which has a sticker on the cover with an 800# to call and advises to choose option 3- however when I called, there was no option 3. (I can try again during regular business hours- they were closed when I tried.)

Anyone with an 06 (or newer) demo disc- is there an updated # by any chance? I have 1-800-782-4356.

What kind of stuff is on the demo disc? Do the new Acuras stock systems still support DVD-A?

the demo disc shows you how the 5.1 surround audio works, and has a few full tracks of music demonstrating the 5.1 channel.

afaik, new TLs still have DVD-audio standard.

Does this come new with your car? I know I got atleast 2 dvd discs when I bought my carnot sure if it's the demo disc as you speak of but I'll look when I get home. If it's what you're looking for you're more than welcome to have it!

I agree with sixsixfour, and Acura's website still lists DVD-A as standard on the new TL (didn't check on their other models).

Evader, thank you for the offer- if you decide that you don't want your disk I'd be happy to compensate you for it and handle shipping. The disc should have been included with your car- my older version is in a jewel case w/ white background, the Acura logo at the top and "ELS Surround DVD-Audio Demonstration Disc" at the bottom. It has 25 total tracks on it, and the sticker on mine notes that it was for the 2005 and 2005 TL. I'm not sure what the new one looks like, however.

Do you guys think that Acura dealers just have these discs hanging around, and would give one to me if I went in?

I got a disc with my 2007 that I bought last month. I don't know if it's the 07 or 08 demo disc, but it's pretty cool.

First it has a few tracks about the car's features, then has "China Grove" by the Doobie Brothers first in Stereo, then in 5.1, then there are another dozen or so tracks in 5.1. Some of them seem to really make good use of the extra speakers, some just seem to use it as a gimmick. The track that's on the demo from Beck makes me want to buy his latest in DVD-A.
