How long for replacement parts?

As I had indicated in a previous thread, Acura is replacing my radio because of a problem with DVD-A play. How long is it reasonable to expect to wait for the replacement?

When they ordered the part, I was told 5-7 days. As of today, it's been two weeks. Should I start complaining??

Any advice would be most helpful...

Thanks!

Interesting...I'm in the same boat, and it's been nearly two weeks for me after being told 5-7 days. After the first week I called the dealer and they blamed it on how Acura is handling the approval process for replacing the radio unit (and figured it would add a week--which would mean I should expect to hear early next week).

In my case, the CD mechanism just seemed to die on me. One thing for certain...man cannot survive on XM alone. Hope this gets resolved soon.

Well, it helps to hear that there's someone else with the same plight.

If you think about it, reply to this thread when they finally get to you, and I'll do the same. I made up my mind that I'll start getting snippy about it at the three week mark.

Fortnately for me, the CD mechanism works just fine...My problem is I get static from all speakers during DVD-A play. But I bought some damned disks, and I want to play them!

Update: got the replacement radio unit installed today (A little over a month since I first brought it in). Took a while, but the sweet sounds of DVD-A once again fill the air.

I hope they were very apologetic. Waiting over a month for a problem would really upset me. Did they offer you any type of compensation? I would call Acura Corporate and inform them of the service you received.

Well, I finally got my replacement radio today. It's working great...my ears are ringing!

In any case, the experience has left me non-plussed. I'll see how future maintenance work goes before I try a different dealer, though.
