How do I unplug XM tuner on an 05 TL?

How do I disconnect the XM tuner from my stock OEM 2005 non-navi XM-equipped TL?

I installed an iSimple Gateway PXAMG iPod Touch 3G adapter from Peripheral Technology. It needed a three-way harness that intercepts a multiconnector on the back of the radio.

The PXAMG worked great at first. It adds three new inputs:
1. IPOD: the iPod indicates "Accessory Control" and you control the iPod from the wheel or head unit and the head unit displays track and artist, playlists, etc, although quite clumsily.
2. AUX1: allows control from the iPod but you can't see the track, artist or playlists.
3. AUX2: standard stereo mini-plug for the earphone jack.

The problem is that it worked the first day fine. Today I got in and plugged in the iPod using AUX1. It played about two minutes, then the speakers made faint pops and went dead. The iPod kept playing but had disconnected from the PXAMG.

Same thing happens on the IPOD input. 30-90 seconds of play, then it disconnects.

It works if I plug in the earphone (AUX2) and power it by the Apple connector, but why waste $146 to do what I can do with a cassette adapter and a $15 lighter charger?

A call to Peripheral Technology returned with "Gee, I've never heard that before!" and after a couple minutes he came back and said I might try disconnecting the XM tuner.

So, how do I do unplug just the XM tuner on a 2005 non-navi TL? They say the tuner is in the right rear but after removing the trunk lining, I didn't see the tuner there?

Any ideas?

I would like to know if we can unplug the XM box and some how replace it with a HD radio. I all ready have the Isimple Gateway with the HD radio that I will install some day soon. I would rather use the Gateway for a Ipod and my laptop that I would feed audio.

Check out youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13nMqK3ZPCI for a sample of HD + PXAMG install.

The HD radio module connects via a DIN plug to the PXAMG. As is, the DIN cable on the HD module is pretty short. Seems to me you'd have to extend the DIN cable on the HD to reach the trunk.

A bigger problem is the antenna. The HD radio module has to intercept the AM/FM antenna that feeds the Head Unit. The only antenna in the trunk is the XM Sat radio antenna so if you put the HD Radio module back there, you'd have to get the regular antenna to it also.
