High level input question

I'm hoping someone is able to steer me in the right direction. I am running a Polk PA660.4 using the high level inputs to retain my oem head unit. The amp worked perfectly on the first run, now for some reason the amp will not give any output to the sub. It powers up fine, but heres the strange part, with the head unit on I have to unplug the high level input connector and reconnect it before it has any output.

Amp turns on and off with the head unit via on\off output.

So to summarize -
* head unit works fine
* amp has good source of power
* amp only comes on when the head unit is turned on
* amp turns off when head unit turns off
* after head unit and amp turn on no output on amp
* with head unit on and music playing, I can unplug the high level input connector and then plug it right back in and mysteriously everything is normal
* in order to listen to the amp, I have to cycle the high level input each time the car is turned off and then back on.
* as long as the car is continuously running the head unit can be turned on and off and the amp will work fine

Thanks for any help.

Does the amp have a signal sensing type turn-on option?

Yes. It supposedly should turn on after an input signal is present and switch off after 1 minute of no signal input.

Do you have it switched on and are still using the remote wire? If so, turn off the auto-sensing circuit.

I don't believe I have the option to turn it off. Looking at the amp, I don't see switch related to it.
