I bet. I found a few songs I cant wait to blast once I get my stuff in this weekend.

Mmm....

Longer version of same song, but instrumental

I've really started to listen to this type of stuff just recently, but it can sound INCREDIBLE. It's weird how your musical taste changes when you age. I went from basshead to purist in terms of audio.

Edit: Hope that foot heals up! Just saw that. KC is what...5 hours away. Hm...

Jerry, what did you end up having to fix in your heel? I have this annoying pain where the tendon attaches to the back of my heel. Started when I picked up playing basketball and hasn't really gone away in 9 months. Makes it painful when I wake up in the morning or after a period of sitting, to get up and push off my foot. Nothing wrong with the bottom, just the back.

Anyway off topic, but have a feeling I'm on a similar path.

You could need a Tarsal Tunnel Release. Look it up. That was one thing they did (2nd time) and I didn't have the issue you refer to, but when I was researching it, your symptom you stated came up many times.

Haha yeah yeah. I listen to good shit too! But I'm always up for something else to try. I like a wide variety of music

I looked up the distance online and it's saying more like 5-5.5 hours. 3 isn't bad at all if that's true

I agree. One thing I've noticed, if the recording is good, on a good system you don't have to retune for different styles of music. I can put on classic and then rap and then rock and it sounds great on everything. It seems like it's the poor, highly compressed recordings that make it sound like crap but any good recording does not require a retune. I actually tune to stuff like the above because it's easier for me.

That might be a little off topic but it reminded me of the stuff I tune to. I also have changed my taste or I should say expanded it. I still like all of the same stuff but I actually listen to some classical and Dubstep now. An infinite baffle setup gets you addicted to ultra low subsonic frequencies. I'm sure Jerry can back me up, there's some music such as pipe organ music that is so powerful and low, you can actually feel it more than hear it and you can even hear as the standing waves fill the Church and linger after the the note stops. This stuff gets cut somewhat by the subsonic filter, if I set it at a 20hz/24db slope, you notice less energy in the air than 20hz/6db. It sounds about the same to your ears but it cuts some of the stuff you can't hear. Excursion gets pretty crazy quickly as well.

Norah Jones is something if you haven't experienced a recording that good, you need to. It will spoil you to where you only want to play music that's less compressed. Even if you don't like the music you will want to play it.

Hey Jerry....did you figure out if you can bypass the screens and display the HVAC details in the display on top of the vents like the navi models ???

is there a way to accomplish this ?

^^^ No, you can't. Believe me, I tried. You need most of the NAVI pieces to make everything work in the upper sub-screen. So, no point considering the cost involved!

^^^ damn that sucks bro....am looking to do something and need to get something to display the HVAC.....

ok another idea, does the HVAC controls work without the display and the radio ??? as in if you remove the radio (CD changer and tape) and the display (for HVAC and radio display) does the AC work ???

Galaxy Tab 8.9 (Radio + Nav) --> Processor --> Rockford Fosgate R600-5 --> Stock Speakers + Sub....

I think this will help me in my weight loss (build in my sig) and get me navigation....the only channel i will loose is the center channel....

PS: i know the sound quality will not be good (like Jerry's or yours or IHC) but my prime goal is weight loss and i like listening to music tooo much to loose my radio....plus i gain navi and i will be displaying all the engine parameters EGT/AFR/IAT/RPM/etc etc etc on the tab....so no need for gauges sticking out

I do need help picking out a processor....which can interface between the galaxy tab and the Amp:

Sweeeeet. When you going to start tackling this project?

need help in picking out a processor thow.....something which can interface with a simple stereo jack (or Left/Right cable) and splits to front/rear/sub to input to the amp....

i checked this out, dont know how it is thow....

anyway, let me not shit on Jerry's thread with these cheap ass products

Trunk Monkey and Jerry and IHC, hit my up on my build thread (link is in my sig) and help me pick out the right amp/processor combo

The Dynaudio Esotar2 1200 can perform exceptionally in either. I read that flexing is the biggest problem with these (have only done sealed, ported and AP's in the past), so I tried the best I could to prevent possible flexing.

I first made the front baffle out of 3/4" mdf.

I then glued and screwed (in about 20+ places) another piece of 3/4" mdf.

I also attached a 3rd piece of 3/4" mdf in the center around where the sub mounts for more support.

I then decided to attach the baffle to the braces.

Here it is covered in carpet and mounted to the braces. I also sealed any and all openings between the cab and trunk using Cascade Audio products and expanding foam. The baffle was attached to the braces using a total of 8 lag bolts/washers (4 per side).

Here is the trim ring I made for the front grill.

I then cut a piece of metal grill material, secured, and wrapped the entire grill in grill cloth.

Here it is.

This is what you see with the center of the arm rest down!

Only the trunk and finishing installing into the dash, all of which progress has been made.
Subscribing to this portion for reference and guide.

Jerry himself has been quite the gentleman helping me and answering every single text when I am stuck in my progress. Thank Jerry

You are correct, you can move up high, but is will look different than what the NAVI TL displays and you will lose your clock, if that matters.

I have been dealing with nerve damage and ongoing scar tissue issues, but it is seeming to get a little better. Thanks for the kind thoughts!

System update....

I recently made some decisions regarding some changes/upgrades with my demo car I thought I would share.

A few weeks ago I added a 2nd Dynaudio Esotar2 1200 IB - Pics will come later.

For my birthday in March, my wife emailed my dealer contact at Dynaudio and surprised me with a set of Dynaudio Esotar2 110's for my demo car, which is also a daily driver. I have been toying with several ideas on mounting and hopefully I will have my plans finished soon and will post pics. (MY WIFE IS AWESOME!!!!!)

And finally (for now), since I have a 3-way front stage, I have decided to go with a larger midbass driver for my doors. So, out go the Esotar2 650's (available for sale if anyone is interested) and in go the new larger Dyns! Again, pics will be posted at a later time.

This is all for now, I know I am teasing, but promise pics of the changes soon!

That sure beats a new tie or a pack of golf balls! Maybe your wife can convince my wife that I need a of a set of 650's for my birthday I'm looking forward to seeing the new build - especially how you decide to get those tweeters in there. Thanks again for the help on the XS-65's! If anyone is thinking about buying new audio gear for their car they should definitely talk to Jerry. You'll not only be getting great prices, but also unparalleled customer service.

That's awesome Jerry. Don't make the mistake I did and tear the doors up with the 182s. There definitely needs to be some bracing. Several times on music that didnt get seriously low, I didn't realize my subs were muted. I'm still working on the 110 thing, just waiting for a deal on the car.

What are your fellings now with your second 12 ?

I'm about ready to do a sealed box at 12 liters for my MB, And 3 liters for the MR or free air, up on the dash or kicks, need to do some more testing. In comparison to where my Phass Drivers were tweeters and high pass midrange, Compared to the stock location for my tweeter now. I hate the though of moving the ZR labs tweeter, If I can get them to sound faster and sweeter on Axis then maybe. They sound so nice firing into the wind shield.

The second 1200 definitely does the trick, especially IB. Couldn't be happier with the sub bass. The new Midbass should pull the bass upfront a little more and I can't wait for the tweeters/midrange to go back in. I am leaning toward all in the kicks....but that changes on a daily basis.

I would play with those tweeters on-axis more. I think they will sound even better then they do now.

Well, it is a sad day (for me at least). Last night I said good by to the Acura TL. As some of you know, I have been dealing with a ankle injury for some time and driving a manual transmission has taken its toll and I decided enough was enough (okay, my wife decided and I went kicking and screaming all the way.....lol).

My new car (automatic transmission) is in my garage and I just spent about 20-25 hours doing a final custom install to the TL........returning it to stock.....lol! (Felt like a custom install at least) AND I sold it to a good friend, which is a good thing, but made me be a lot more particular in what I did.

So, I will soon have many items for sale in the black market, including the brand new kicks I just made and the center stack built for a single DIN with the HVAC soldered off the board.

Anyway, I will start a new build log as soon as I recover from this weekend. I don't have a ton of time these days, so it will be much slower and much more epic....lol!
