Hi guys,
I have a Canadian 2006 TL Base with a broken Handsfree bluetooth module.
Is there anyone in the GTA/Ontario who has a extra new replacement module that they are interested in selling to me?
Let me know, otherwise I will probably buy it from the States and have it shipped over next week.
Cheers!

Hfl
I just read your recent posts as they described the exact same issue my HFL does. It goes all the way up to PAIR mode, then I have my iPhone 5 in "now discoverable" mode and nothing comes up as the Handsfree Link is asking me for the 4-digit code. I followed previous posts on how to replace it, simply enough. I even tried the 'baking' method to no avail. Now I'm about to order the replacement unit for about $183 from a partner sight here. I just wanted a warm fuzzy that someone had the exact same symptoms and that it the fix before I shell out nearly 2 Benjamins on it...

IIRC, the HFL needs a 4 digit code for the pairing process.
Otherwise, Rick Bordas did replace his HFL unit with a new one and everything works now-- see his post at the end of the "Bluetooth Fails" thread.

2006 TL with navi have owned it for the last year and half
I recently updated my Samsung S3 to the new 4.3 OS on t-mobile. Since the update whenever I receive a call I get the " you have an incoming call" but never pacths the call through. I have to physically press the hands-free button on my phones home screen to use the HFL. Same thing when i want to make a call using my phone once the other end answer i have to press the hands-free button on my phones home screen. Here is where I'm puzzled if i make a call using the steering wheel button and all that jazz it works fine. Before the update i had no problems.
I hope i made sense in trying to describe my issue and, hope someone can help.

I'm new to the forum and matter of fact this is my first post. Love the article I see on this forum.
Unfortunately like everyone else, I too need to replace my HFL module. I have a 2007 TL/Navi. Does anyone know where I could purchase one of this; does the module differs in US vs Canadian vehicle? I'm from Canada.
Thank you so much.

I got mine at Acura of Tempe via Amazon
If you are not sure of part number based on color, just call and ask for Joe in service. He actually sent pics to be sure color was correct. Great customer service.
I tried the baking and everything else but could not get long term fix, so I just ordered online. I use mine all the time so bit the bullet.
Good luck

When you say "switched out the boards," do you mean you switched the metal HFL module onto your car's housing, or that you disassembled the HFL and switched the internal circuit board?
If you just switched HFL modules, make sure it is a correct one for your series TL-- the '04-'06 is not interchangeable with the '07-'08 models.
Then get your radio and Navi codes ready, disconnect the battery and reconnect after 20 minutes.

That was the problem. I didnt realize the 07 base and type s were different. When I searched on acura oem parts, it didnt specify the difference.

Will Y,
I have an 05 TL, I'm in Los Angeles (culver city), I am about to buy the Module but not sure which to get between the two listed on OEM Acura parts, My interior is Parchment, which is either light tan or creamy ivory, There is a price difference but not substantial, about 25 bucks… how do i know which one fits mine?
Thanks

HFL Module Replacement - '06 TL
Hello,
I replaced my module with a "used one in good condition" that I found on E-bay. I just hooked it up and it still says "booting up". Am I supposed to disconnect and reconnect the battery to prompt it to restart or something? I actually have never used the Bluetooth before. When I bought the car a few years ago it needed the module replaced and I decided I would do it later. I saw this thread after doing a little research and decided I could do it myself but I am not sure what to do next. Please help.

Sometimes it's a short in the wires that make the unit unreliable. Give the area near the rear-view mirror a solid pop with your fist. After a couple of seconds the Bluetooth light might appear.
Yes, I'm serious.

Bluetooth not working but HFL Does
Diagnostics indicates HFL is OK, but phone does not pair. Is the Bluetooth module separate or different than the HFL module? If so, where is it located? Thanks.

Is your phone compatible? Check the Acura owner website to confirm.
If so, make sure you are saying "setup" using the HFL control switches on the front of the steering wheel and not the voice command switches on the back of the wheel.
