Having trouble finding the right audio settings

What up all...

I got an 05 TL (about 7 months old) and I just haven't been able to get the audio settings configured properly (I'm talking about the number for the "bass" "sub" etc.)

I listen to hip-hop and club music (think 66 raw and BPM on XM radio) and the radio sounds great, but at times, with some songs, the bass it too much to handle, there is some rattling, etc.

I was looking for suggestions as to what levels I should have my settings at. Right now I have the bass at -6 and the Sub at +3, but the others are all the same as the day I got the car.

What do you think?

Audio Settings...

Mike,

Out of curiousity is the rattling coming from the rear center (subwoofer)? If so you may have blown it out. My 06NBPTL is going to be 1 month old on Memorial Day and I blew out the subwoofer this weekend. My audio settings are stock, this appears to be fairly common (search the forum). After a battery of tests Acura reinforced the area where my subwoofer sits and replaced it with a new one.

By the way, I listen to XM65, 66, BTP, and Techno...so Bass is bangin! I just had woofer replaced yesterday and so far so good.

Weird, when I read stuff like this I wonder if something is wrong with my 06 TL. I have the sub set all the way to the max and then the bass just slightly to the right of center (+1 or +2) and it gives ok bass but nothing great. I would think that at bass -6 and sub +3 you would get almost no bass unless you had it cranked to 30 (or whatever the max vol is)

Brian's settings pretty much match mine. With some material, it's a bit too much bass when stopped, but it's generally a good, or slightly weak, amount of bass when driving on the freeway.

If you're getting rattles, have the dealer check them out and fix them. Though my original sub wasn't blown, it was rattling so the dealer replaced it.

bass +6
treb + 3
center 0
sub + 6
i think the sound is optimized @ these levels
esp. for XM 66 Raw
