HandsFreeLink -"Booting Up"

With 500 KM on my 06TL/Nav Im already getting this message on my HFL- "Booting Up". I guess I cant use my phone using this feature. Is there any quick fix to this besides disconnecting the negative terminal or going back to the dealer?

Many people have had this issue. I believe that the only thing you can do is get the HFL module replaced(under warrenty). Try disconnecting the battery first though, and see if that does anything; otherwise, its off to the dealer.

Vcube there are multiple threads on this (try doing a search). Before doing the disconnecting, first, try shutting the car off and locking the door for a couple of minutes. If that doesn't work try removing the fuse ( I believe it's the same one the dome lights are on), if that doesn't work then disconnect, and finally to the dealer. If you check the threads one of them tells the exact fuse to remove. This happens to me every once and a while and all I do is shut the car down for a few minutes, start it back up and I am fine. Oh also one other thing you can try, turn off the bluetooth on your cell for a few minutes. Some have said this works for them. I hope this works and you don't have to make a trip to the dealer.

FrankT I have done my research and did most of what you have just mentioned, except trying to remove the fuse. I'll try that right now and if it doesnt work I'll be forced to disconnect which i wouldnt want to do but I guess its worth the try. by the way, thanks ey!

AAAHHH!! I hate the service department! I left my car for a good half day with them and the only thing that I got from them is a free car wash.( at least I got something right?) In terms of the problem with my HFL, they said there’s no problem with it and everything is working just fine. The technician who’s supposed to be one of there “best” (so they say) and is a “senior” in terms of how long he was working for that company even showed me that everything is working fine, he then started playing around with the voice recognition and went to press the MID’s info bar until the HandsfreeLink displayed itself, the Tech then said: ”As you can see, ‘Booting up’ disappears when you press select/reset button twice (Duh!) I looked at him and started laughing sarcastically, in my mind, ‘Do you even know what you’re talking about? Or even know what your doing?” I then explained to him how the damn feature works. He replied: ‘I didn’t even know you need a phone for that”. Dang! What a tech! It really showed that he doesn’t know shit about that feature. He worked for Acura as I recalled, for at least 10 yrs from what the Service department told me awhile back when I had my 05 RSX serviced. I even told them that I did some troubleshooting and did some research in the Internet. I also mentioned to them multiple times the potential problem. It’s the HFL module, module module!! Hehe. And what do you know; The Assistant Manager called Acura’s tech help line and they said there is no bulletin from Acura that had that common concern with the TL. And even called the US Help line to dig more info on HFL-‘booting up’. Now, I have to wait until next week, because they have to do more research on the HFL feature. I guess it’s a more common problem in the US as to here in Canada. I guess here in Vancouver, not a lot of TL owners use their HFL or get the same experience as I had with my HFL. They gave me a Survey card saying how my recent service experience went. I guess you can predict on what ill be saying about them. (Lougheed Acura in Coquitlam, British Columbia Service Department)
