GROUP 1 or GROUP 2 ?
I was playing a DVD audio and i remember that someone said pressing two left small silver button will change the directory of a multiple directory DVD audio.
I did this and instead of Group 1 i saw GROUP 2 appear on the screen ( I have no GPS) and the sound change. There's a big difference. Difficult to say wich one is better.
Is it another type of encoding ( i.e stereo instead 5.1) or another setting.
Anybody have already done this ?

The DVD-A case will usually list what is in the different groups. For example, the Best of REM DVD-A has the 96KHz/24-bit 5.1 mix, and a 192KHz/24-bit stereo mix.

Mine for example it's a STING DVD. GROUP 1 is it the best or Group 2 ?
Do you think the DVD player choose the best setting at first ?

Better is for you to decide. They are probably very different. In most cases that I've seen, Group 1 will be the 5.1 mix and Group 2 will be the stereo mix, as Haighworld mentioned. The stereo mix will be higher quality, but will only be two channels. The 5.1 mix will be higher quality than standard CD, but not as high as the stereo mix on the DVD-A. Listen to the one you like better.
