I think the software and hardware on the new gens is different then of for the older ones.

Shouldnt any decent programmer be able to remove the nag screen all together. I mean, instead of using an automatic enter function, why not just cut out that line(or so) of code. I know its not that easy. But it must be removable some how.

I am also getting the message that states "the Nag modification is not available for your car".
Has anyone had success with a 2004 TL?

I've successfully changed the load screen with a color picture of my 2 yr old son standing by my TL. Looks great!

I donated to bysin and emailed him so maybe he will have time to help us out.

From what the guys on the tsx thread have been saying, there is alot of processing going on in the background when the nag screen is up. If you removed the nag you would still have some wait time before going into the navigation program.

To tell you the truth, I don't mind waiting for the processing, even if it's showing the disclaimer during that time. The bit that annoys me is having to hit a button just for the map to come up. If someone could remove that prompt, that would rock!

Yeah, it's not the disclaimer text thats annoying it's the fact that you have to press OK everytime you get in the car.

OK, so the hack does change the pic for the nag screen? Otherwise, how do you do that?
Thanks,

You're going to screw up ur dad's car

Try Nero, or some other cd burning application. Drag the contents back into the CD root.

Which version of dumpnavi are you running, Console or GUI? They have different instructions. If you are running GUI then you only modify one bin file and burn all bin files onto a CD.

^ Are you receiving an error code and/or message when attempting to load your new disk? If so what is the exact message?

Like Shinj1EVA, I use Nero.

Sounds like the CD is bad. You might want to try downloading a trial version of Nero and burn another CD.

I bet you're not pushing the load disk button fast enough after inserting the CD.

Anyone found some more info out about the PCI card?

I just spoke with an Service manager in charge of a bunch of service departments for honda dealers and some other dealers and he stated he has a program by honda that you load through the card slot that will allow DVD's to play on the navi.

I am going to get more details on this tuesday as he is going to do my moms 2005 honda accord, but he said we can try it on my acura after to see what happens.

Anyone else heard of this at all?

Proper technique:

1 - Insert CD, do *NOT* close the door
2 - Go to nav screen and press "Load"
3 - Go to trunk and close the loader's door

You have about 20 seconds between #2 and #3.

So would it allow you to play DVDs using the normal CD slot or the one in the navi, assuming it works. Your mom likes to watch DVDs while she drives?

It would be the navi rom in the trunk, the accord does not play dvd disks in the HU...

anyway, he stated it plugs into the pc slot, loads the program and you can insert movies into the navi unit and will play... Did not give more specifics on it. I asked who it was by, and he stated it is a Honda program... He said a lot of things can be loaded w/ use of that slot but didnt say anymore.

Anyway he is doing for free so hey why not? my mom will never use it but if its free why not?

Anyway I will find more info out tuesday I guess... I will post whatever I find out or happens here ASAP... I dont know if its true or possible but just telling what I have been told so far... I dunno how it will work cuz I thought the unit didnt have all speakers hooked up, but we shall find out in time... What will piss me off is if it works on her Honda and not the Acura... lol

Oh well...

i noticed that the 2nd try:

1st try: put in disc, walked back and noticed that it rebooted by itself

2nd try: got to the button in time but said check disc/consult dealer

still didnt work

It should not have re-booted itself ... I do it this way:

1) Get to the Version screen w/ the factory disc in place.
2) Go to the trunk, eject the Nav Disc
3) Push the CD in, and quickly run up and hit the load disc button, (I leave my passenger door open before doing this)
4) Swap disc's after it reboots.

Quite the simple hack.

The goal of course is to reverse engineer the whole thing so we can go beyond simply hacking graphics, sounds and text and actually add new apps to the menus.

This will allow you to extract the .BIN files into a folder. You'll have a load of files, lik .DLLs and .EXEs

Edit Navi.exe and go looking for the typical text shown on the nag screen. Then simply change that text to whatever you want.

Same can be done for buttons an other various text displays on the navi.
voila...

I understand that part, but there is a pic in the place of the nag text. How was that changed?

On edit, oh, that is the flash from the camera...
Sorry.
