Fun with XM's abbreviated titles

The non-navi TL displays radio data on the small screen above the radio controls, and it doesn't have room for the full song title on XM, leading to some funny-looking titles.

Example: On the Sixities channel, "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag" by James Brown came out as "PAPA'S GOT A BRA."

Has anyone else seen some other funny ones?

I think it happens the same way in the Navi version too. Because many of the songs title do not display in full either. I think that song would exactly display on my navi screen as it does with your's.

This happens on my CDA-9815 (12 characters). For example, songs by the group Drowning Pool will say "Drowning Poo". Several others have made me chuckle. The TL NAVI has 16 characters (XM system limitation) so there's more room for complete titles, but still not always enough.

That's ok, the other day a Doobie Brothers song came on, and between the abbreviation and the D and B looking alike on that display, when I first looked I thought it said "BOOBIE BROTH." I laughed so hard I almost went off the road.

The Navi screen can display a few more characters than the time and temperature display can, but all XM displays are limited to 16 because that's all XM send. Bruce Springsteen will appear as "Bruce Springstee" on the Navi display.
