I did everything that the sticky said on post 11 but my question is what do i do after i stick the orange navi disc back in. cause it didn't do anything but go back to the ok screen and then after i hit it straight to the navi screen

3. I think you can just insert the original nav disc, load the disc and your defaults should all be there. Haven't tried it yet though.

Your nav screen should just boot up like normal with the new background, then show a black screen with a couple sentences on it where the normal "OK screen" would be, then you should see the normal map screen.

Anyone else having issues with these files? It worked flawlessly for me (other than the AC control issues. Still looking into that).

Download the RAR file... extract using WinRAR. There should be two (2) BIN files. Burn those on a blank CD-R. Then follow the instructions in post #11.

just finished installing it..looks great just one questoin..wht else does the hack do besides the OK button and the start up screen? something about the trip computer and a/c controls?
can someone explain???

I'm glad that you mentioned the info button. I was wondering where all the magic was gonna happen.

I will do this tonight and let you know what happens. I'm a PC technician, so I think I should be able to handle burning a CD and following the instructions that are posted hundreds of times now.

OK... Why is it everyone can read the part about getting the files e-mailed to them, but nobody can read that there is a link to download it that has been typed over and over again.

Well - I'm going to download it right now and see how this thing works.

Well... I'm a little disappointed. So I might just have to do this from scratch unless someone can help fairly quick.

I have an 04, but upgraded to the 3.6 disk. It isn't liking the hack cd-r, tells me to check my disk.

2 questions... First being does it matter that I closed out the session so the disk could not longer be burned to? And secondly, is there something special for the newer disks that needs to be done. The second question I will find out by reading the sticky.

Ok - sorry about the post whoring...

I changed the filename to BN2HH12C and got the hack to load. It loaded completely, went to the black acura advance screen, then I saw some garbage that flashed up on the screen where the OK button usually is. That went away, and i got the green "loading" bar at the top again and it said incorrect disk, see your dealer (or something to that affect).

I took that to mean that it couldn't load the navigation, so I stuck the orange disk back in figuring it would just load, and it reloaded everything back to original.

Am I missing a step here? Everything I'm reading says that it should have worked.

This hack was done for v3.40c

I believe there are other instructions for newer versions.

I think I've got everything I need, just gotta go back out in the heat and grab my navi disk back out so I can start with fresh bin files. Otherwise it's pretty straight forward (as long as it works when I'm done..lol)

Ok, i downloaded the 2 files. And then extracted them with winrar. And I had the image I wanted sized correctly. What do I do to put my image into the burn disc to install in the car?

Also, do I just burn those two extracted .bin files onto a cd-r and put it in the navi.? That's all?

If you want to use your own image, then you're gonna have to go thru the sticky on your own. I just threw these files up here for people that wanted the same boot screen image as me.

Hm...guess I need to get version 3.40 since it is not working with the 3.30. Thank you for the info. I have burned the dvd and just need to get my hands on the correct version of navi disc somehow.

Hey guys, I got this to work on 3.30 navi discs last night, just had to follow a couple different directions listed in the sticky. Im at work right now w/ no access to the files, but Ill try to get the BINs uploaded tonight so you guys can have em.

Doesn't look as complete as our orange versions. As far as returning back to stock image and load - simply unplug the battery, input your navi/radio codes and voila...

Kudos to JMKIANG for helping fellow aziners but in the end I hope that you don't get bombared with PM's for people not willing to actually read throhg this thread or the even longer Navi Hack thread.

I was able to do this too...but the hardest part for me which I still have NOT figured out is how to hack the disclaimer to show whatever text I want. I downloaded the hex editor and everything but I just don't know whree to edit and input my own message with all the spacing and such.


But yes 3.40C is not compatible with the 3.7 and up versions.

^ Yeah its kind of a PITA when people don't read buy hey, everyone does it every now and then.

I haven't spent the time with the hex editor yet but the instructions seemed pretty straight forward. If I'm successful, I'll PM you. Hopefully you get it done by then!

^ Read the sticky. You gotta start from scratch... so at least do the first part. Very easy, as long as your BMP is in the correct format etc.
