Smile First Post - Finally On The Grid.. HFL/TSB 05-020 Inquiry?

What's going on, everyone?

Long time follower/reader, "first time caller" .. as the cliche goes, right? Well I finally caved and decided to have a beacon light up on this site - I'm officially on the grid as a registered user. I enjoy reading the various posts throughout the site as there are tons of info here.. but one in particular somehow eludes me - the HFL "Booting Up" issue (I'll get to that below).

I have an '04 TL non-navi, satin silver; 5% tint all around, except for 35% on fronts. Viper 5901 remote start system. Smoked side markers and taillights. Will be looking to add iSimple iPhone 5 functionality (not yet released: ISHD651) to factory radio. Why the ISHD651? Because it incorporates a BT module with that particular device, whereas the ISHD571 can do the similar function - albeit the Lightning adapter is needed, AND the ISBT21 module would also need to be purchased. That leads me to the OEM HFL...

My OEM HFL unit went bad, as it just says "Booting Up" - I've done several tests such as this: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/hfl-booting-up-07-tl-831132/ and . I'm also aware of TSB 05-020 https://www.box.com/shared/ahv7hm987a, but considering that my car is an 04, and HFL module crapped out over a year ago (yes, with parasitic drain and what-not too), what are the chances that the dealer could possibly honor the TSB, or part of it as a good-will gesture or something of that nature? Otherwise, the ISHD651 would kill two birds with one stone for my needs. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

welcome, not sure I would be to excited about the BT function as the audio quality is compromised. stick with the directly connected iSimple. I just keep an iTouch permanently connected.

Thanks for the tip; my other half has been asking me to have the BT fixed so she can make and place calls while she drives. That's also a reason for why the "need" for a BT solution. Between audio quality and an unhappy wife, I think I can make "compromises" (pun intended), as you might understand lol
