Question enclosing the stock sub

I am looking for ways to add more bass to the tl sound as i like a lot of bass but not looking to shatter windows and have room in the trunk/wallet for groceries is there a way to enclose the stock sub? would that acutually do anything for the sound? is the stock sub designed for enclosed operation or if a sub can be used in free air it can be enclosed?

This is what I did to over come that problem. It works and sounds great. Not to mention I can still fit my golf clubs in the trunk, or groceries.
