Eclipse 34230 amp

Does anyone have any experience with the Eclipse 34230 amp? I'm interested in using it to drive (2) svc 12's. I've read the specs and it looks good.

Assuming your subs are SVC 8ohm and looking for 350-400 each, then yes, that's a good amp! You getting a good price on it or something

I see this amp is 2 ch x 370 at 4 ohm. the subs are 4 ohm svc 200rms/400peak. Figured I could just run ch1 on 1 sub, ch2 on 2nd and not stress the amp.

Woops, brain fart. 2 channel...not mono. You'll be fine then. What subs? I'm selling my basically brand new Memphis pr1.1000 if that deal doesn't go through. I've got it up on DIYMA for cheap. Need to throw it on here too

Thanks Trunk Monkey, if this deal falls thru I'll let you kno. I'm going to run a pair of RFP1412's in a sealed 2-chamber box.

That is too much amp for those subs. Get it and use it, but be careful - keep the gain low. I would not go over 200W on those daily. The amp will sound better and stay cooler running under capacity... and you have headroom in case you want to get different subs some day.

FYI - I am pretty sure that the amp does not bridge, so you are talking about running each sub on it's own channel - which is fine.

thanks, my thoughts exactly on the gains, and correct, it does not bridge.

Nope, doesn't bridge. And yes, smart to keep gains low. Good call! I'd be looking to upgrade those asap...b/c we all know the mod bug will bite you

oh, too late for that...bit my ass good. I've had those subs since mid 90s. They still sound great, but if I toast them I still got my moneys worth out of them.

so I'm going to pass on this Eclipse. Picked up an Alpine MRD-M605 from a family member. If anyone is interested in the Eclipse, I'll pass along the sellers info, just let me know.
