DVD-A questions

For that have gone to the extent to add Adobemans GUI program and burned your own DVD-A is there a sound quality advantage or is it more the ability to have more songs on on disc?

I was toying with the idea of buying a DVD burner to do this but if its only advantage is the quantity of songs per disc then I won't spend the money.

Burning WAV files or MP3s (ugh!) to a DVD (DVD-A or otherwise) will not improve their quality. As a matter of fact, the act of converting the MP3 back to WAV format may actually lower the sound quality! Regardless, the convenience of 7 to 10 albums on a single disc is WELL worth the $35 expenditure on a decent DVD burner. Couple this with Adobeman's script and the free DeepBurner and you have spent less than the price of 3 CDs. Or go whole hog and get DVD Audio Extractor and Cirlinca's DVD Audio Solo and rips your concert and non-DVD-A compliant discs (like the new MVI shite from Warner) in hi-res surround. Even then, you are out less than $100. Just don't buy a burner off the shelf. Get one from Newegg and SAVE! And anyway, how can you get by in 2007 without a DVD burner?

Yo Jesstzn,
I'm going to get a new SATA DVD Burner, I'll give you my old one.
By old... I mean it's about 6 months old.

My threshold for upgrading computer parts is about as bad as my penchant for buying new cars...
