I saw somewhere where you can piggyback the cd rom drive to add a aftermarket dvd player. I looked up all that on my iphone before i purchased the TL and now that i have it i want that mod done. Anyone done this already and do you recommend and parts more than the other? Thanks Mike

You can't use the factory DVD drive to play movies, however the system can be modified so you can play a dvd on the navi screen through an external dvd player.

You will need a navigation system adapter such as TVandNav2Go or NavTool. Call them and tell them you are from acurazine and you should get a good price, somewhere 225 for a PLUG and PLAY kit!

You'll need an audio adapter as well, getting one depends on what you want and how much you want to spend. If you want to be able to control your iphone/ipod though the radio and as well have a dvd input, then something like the DICE, USASPEC or Peripheral unit are good. BUT if you only want an audio input for the dvd system, something like the PIE X3 would work.
