I have one for you now, it's Porcupine Tree - Lightbulb Sun. Amazon.com has the special edition with a second disc of songs in 5.1 click here The enhanced disc sounds so good in our cars.

PT is a great band. If you are a fan of progressive rock, don't miss these guys. Thye have been around quite a while but are on the fringes of air play so most people have never heard of them.

Thanks for the review. I have had all the Moody Blues albums in every format including 8 track at one time or another. I guess its time to work on a DVD-A collection if they sound that good. I'll check out the site you used. Thanks again.

Huh?

I bought that album on it's release.... and every other Moody Blues album. I have never seen a mono Moody Blues release. From the mid 60's forward, nearly all music albums were stereo. Are you sure?

Stereo was all the rage in the mid to late 50s and even comedy albums were released in stereo. (or so I hear from my older relatives :cough: )

FWIW, Music Direct currently have 157 DVD-A titles available. Most are classical, although the Talking Heads box set has me tempted (I'm wary, however, because it says "DualDisc" in the item description). What I find annoying is that some of these DVD-As are things that I had bought on SACD prior to the DVD-A releases. I'm not so enthusiastic about buying multiple copies of the same recording.

Edited to add: In case it's not clear from the new board software, the clause following "FWIW" is a link to their online store.

I am not sure the first release wasn't mono but I do know that there is no song 'Forever Tuesday", it's "The Afternoon: "Forever Afternoon (Tuesday?)" to fit into the "day" theme (most commonly kown as Tuesday Afternoon.

From what I have gatehred, Deram Records brought the Moddy's onboard to showcase their new thing called "stereo"

I like the Moody's and have seen them several times. Their DVD-As are excellent!

Guys, if you're a Doors fan, their boxed set is out with all their albums in 5.1 surround sound-which should work in our cars. But towards the end of September or early October, they'll have the same albums in a slipcase set for close to half the price of the boxed set ($140.00).

I've never been a huge Doors fan, but my DVD-A demo disc that came with the car had a 5.1 surround version of "Touch Me" on it that blew me away. I'll be picking up the slipcase version of the Doors boxed set then.

By the way, the slipcase version is the same discs, just not in a jewelbox. They're in a hard cardboard "mini LP" case. They'll still be packaged in a box, so it will be a nicely finished package.

It should be similar to the two Genesis boxed sets and the Beatles sets that are now available. Hey, the Genesis discs are great too. I haven't tried them in the TL yet, but they sound awesome on the surround sound system at home.
